Question about Dryers

I have a gas dryer 1.5 yrs old and the timer is not working on any cycle. model MGDC700VW

    The dryer does not shut off. the timer does not move from the start position whether its set in "timed cycle" or "auto dry cycle"

Sounds like the little electric motor that moves the timer dial is defective, this is the most common cause.

i believe a while back, this model had a timer issue, but would need exact model to be sure,
anyway its a pretty asy repair and the part is easily available at

Whirlpool Senseon Gas Dryer- will let not start


Reboot the curcuit board by unplugging for 5 min. Then replug and wait 1 min before selecting cycle. Too many selection in a short period of time can overwelm the little brain in the board.

Gas dryer continues to run on the Auto cycle.


try to get the manual for the dryer you got and locate the moisture sensor if this sensor is bad what happen is that the automatic timer thinks that the clothes still wet and continues to dry once the sensor detects no moisture then it shut off the dryer normally is located behind the dryer on the exit line of the air duct and tested for conductivity and see if is good or not

Whirlpool dryer won't heat


Ended up replacing the solenoids and the burner ignited, flame stayed on. Problem appears to be solved. Thanks for your help and posting.
