How many wires go from DVD to TV and what colors are they?
How many wires go from the DVD to the TV and what colors are they? Where do you insert them in the TV? There is a red wire, white wire, yellow wire, is that correct? Where do you insert them in the DVD player? And finally, does the TV have to be on a certain channel to view the DVD?

Re: How many wires go from DVD to TV and what colors are...
Ok. If you have a tv that has a five hole input (green, blue, red, white, red) this is the preferred hook up. That cable is called a component cable. The green blue and red part is for video and the white is audio left and the red is audio right.
If your tv does not have the five hole input it should have a three hole input. Those colors are yellow, white, and red. This is called a composite cable.
You just match up the colors that's all. Your tv should have an input or tv video button on the remote control that would allow you to switch inputs or you may be able to get to video 1 and video 2 and etc by using the channel up and down button and going lower than channel 2.

Your tv and DVDs have color coded wires white, yellow and red..just mscth them..most have words like video or audio out and in...would be out to TV on the DVD in on the TV pretty much self explaining..good luck
Make sure tv input is set for the slot you plugged the DVD
into.On the tv remote you will find inputs.Just change for the right one.
Most of the time DVD player is working when TV is on channel 2 or 3 .
if your tv and dvd player are good yes might be you have a wrong connection. this is how a proper connection between your tv and dvd player.
first step in connecting a dvd player to a tv unit is determined what kind of connection you want to make, this usually determined to the outputs and inputs available on the dvd player and tv unit.
if you are using a plasma or a lcd tv usually the inputs are: composite inputs- lets you connect a component source like a dvd, vcr, and laser disc. component inputs - lets you connect another component source such as a dvd player. DVI-HDTV - lets you connect an HD receiver with a DVI output.
for example if you select the composite input what you need is a RCA plug which usually a 3 color plug.this picture is an example of commercial rca plug which usually the color yellow use for video and the red and white color for audio..
this is how you will connect those wire into your dvd player and tv unit.look for the component output jack of your dvd player .this picture is a sample of component output jack the color may vary depending tokind of brand or dvd player do you have.
now get your RCA plug then the yellow plug insert it to the Y or video out the red and white plug insert it to the left and right AUDIO out of your dvd player.
now look for the composite inputs jack of your TV unit then get the other end of RCA plug. the yellow plug must be insert it to the V label for video the red and white plug into L/R label which mean for audio input.
after you connect the 3 wires re check all the connections make sure the RCA plug is good and properly inserted to avoid loose contact which can affect the picture and sound quality.
now turn on your dvd player and tv unit.
make sure your tv unit is set to right input you want to use like for example you are using the video 1 input, you need to set to the remote controller into video 1 so that your dvd player must be recognized by your tv. enjoy watching i hope it will help you thanks for choosing fixya as your solution to fix you problem good luck.
hi.... is your player works on RCA connector? if so the audio jacks colored red and white should be inserted to your TV RCA port colored red and white too..the video jacks is yellow try re insert it to your TV RCA port colored yellow....weak video responses sometimes cause by delayed contact...hope it can help...don't forget to rate and vote...good day..
there should be 3 colored cords,if that's the way you are trying to hook it up.There is that or HDMI.For colored cords, insert the color into the matching color on the OUTPUT labeled portion of the DVD player.Take the other 3 ends and insert them into the INPUT labeled part of the TV.To access it on the TV,you will need to press the input or input select button (whatever it is labeled) on the TV remote, and select input 1 or input 2,depending on which on it is connected to on the TV.Just about all TV's these days have at least 2 inputs for an external source.Your TV remote button may even be labeled source select. You should be all set from there. Good luck!
In your accessories kit that came with your DVD, you should find a cable with a red ,yellow and white RCA ends. at the other end is a 1/8 inch Tip /ring/sleeve plug. Insert the plug into the output of the DVD. Insert the yellow wire to the same color coded INPUT of your television, insert the red and white wires to the Audio input on you TV. Your DVD should be sending the signal directly to your TV. hope this helps . if it does , vote.
just make sure that the colors are matched with the jock and the socket
in your dvd player and your tv. just make sure that you unplug first
your dvd player and tv while attaching the wires to avoid accidents.
just follow the color coding of the wires and cables and you wont go
wrong. just plug in the your tv and dvd player to the electric socket
and in no time you will be watching your favorite movie.
for the player, just press the open(eject) button to insert your dvd
and normally it will automatically play. just hit rewind (<<) for
playback and forward (>>) to skip some scenes. use the |<<
button to go back to a previous section and the >>| to skip to
the nest section. use the || to pause and the button with the square
symbol to stop.
