Question about HP Pavilion a305w (DM181AR) PC Desktop

I have a HP Pavilion a305w and I need help with reinstalling Lucent Win Modem and Microsoft Driver Version 8.28 for Windows XP. In the Device Manager area I have a yellow circle with a black exclamation mark in the middle. I need help in reinstalling the modem and drivers. Please Help!!!!!!!!!

    I have already uninstalled and reinstalled both the Modem and same Drivers for the Modem several times and I still get the same error message with the yellow circle with a black exclamation mark in the middle. I don't no what else to do at this point. Can you give me another suggestion please. I have been researching for two weeks now and I am still at square one.

Go to the 10th option of the below mention link
and under the " Original Drivers " option scroll down to the option called " Fall 2003 Original Modem Driver Collection "

Click on this option and install it on the computer. I am sure it will work. If it does not work let me know .

    Please tell me your system configuration :-

    1:- Chipset name ( Find out from Device manager )

    2:- RAM Size ( System properties )

    3:- Modem name ( Find out from Device manager )

    4:- Network Adaptor ( Find out from Device manager )

    5:- Service Pack 1,2 or 3 ???? ( System properties )



    One more thing i would like to know. When was the last time the modem drivers were installed and working fine. Did you installed something on the computer before you had this problem. Any updates you did.



    At the moment do you have any windows Update pending.



    Things i would like you to try in the mean while is



    Step 1:- Go to the Safe mode. ( Restart the computer. When you see the first screen Start tapping the F8 key. You will get the windows Advance option Black screen. There choose the option Safe mode. Then choose your operating system and enter the Safe mode as an administrator. )



    Step 2:- Now go to the device manager and uninstall the modem again. ( Click on the plus sign right next to the modem and right click on the chipset you see under that. Choose uninstall and uninstall the modem. )



    Also, If you have any Full version Protection like norton,macafee,AVG etc install on the computer. Uninstall it completely for the time being. ( Reason why we doing this :- To avoid the firewall interruption ) you can install the software again. But not for the time being.



    Restart the computer in ( safe mode with networking. )

    (Downlaod malwarebytes from the internet)

    Its a free download. Safe to use.



    Scan your computer for any kind of malwares or spywares or any kind of infection. If you have infection remove it else uninstall the malware bytes from Add or remove programs After the scan is done.



    Step 3:-



    Click on start--> control panel-->user accounts-->create a new user accounts -->now restart the computer --> enter the new user account--> you probably get found new hardware or some thing--> cancel that.



    Step 4:- Now click on start-->all programs-->PC help and tools--> Application recovery-->choose the modem drivers under driver application and install it. After installing it restart the computer.



    If the drivers does not work from the there then try to install the drivers from the website i gave you already.



    Check if it works.



    If it does not work then update the motherboard drivers again and then try to install the modem drivers again without uninstalling the modem drivers.



    ( Note:- If you have not done a system restore perform that and choose the date when the drivers were installed and working fine. )



    If still that does not work.



    ( This option is recomended only if you have the back up of your computer DATA on an external hard drive. )



    The last option i would like you to do is to do a system recovery on the computer using the recovery discs.



    There are two kinds of recovery on HP computers

    1:- Non-destructive recovery. ( overwrites the OS and will not loose the complete data )

    2:- Destructive recovery.( Formats the hard drive and you will loose every thing you had on the machine. Complete clean up. )

Base system missing


Is this in Device Manager? Did you notice this after the Win 7 upgrade? If so , it's a common problen when upgrading, Is that the only issue? Your Card Reader work? Modem? Co-processor? I have a HP Pavilion DV9320us I loaded Win 7 64bit Ultimate on with similar issues, modem, co-processor, card reader, etc. Use the Win Vista drivers, modify the drivers for Win 7. Wound up reformatting the hard drive and installed Windows XP Pro 64-bit. But am missing correct drivers for the modem. It does not even show up in device manager

I see you re-installed Windows on the machine with Win XP Pro 64bit but you are having issue with the driver as mentioned.
If I may ask before you installed win XP 64bit did you have win XP 32bit?
If so then try downloading a driver for a 64bit version to make the Modem driver work, having an Incorrect version of the driver will really not show up in device manager, and make sure the driver you are downloading is the correct driver.
You did not mentioned the Brand of the Machine or Motherboard that you have and the modem that you need a driver for is that a built in Modem on the Motherboard or is that a modem external provided by your Internet Provider.

Use the following link, scroll a little and click on Fix It

Click Run in the File Download dialog box and follow the steps in the wizard

When completed restart the computer and check the CD/DVD drive

(you may need to run Fix It twice)

651 error ,first talk to your ISP but also you can check in the device manager -if the driver is working properly if not reinstal it.

Ok, the modem is a simple one. You need to manually install it. Right click on MY COMPUTER, PROPERTIES, HARDWARE, DEVICE MANAGER. Right click the PCI Communications error icon and click HAVE DISK. Scroll down and select the Lucent Win Modem and ignore any error messages and load that driver. You should be good to go. As for the audio, I'll have to send that to you via another account as gmail and sbcglobal doesn't allow the sending of EXE files. The subject line will read DV1000 sound driver.

I need the Video Controller and driver PCI Modem


In device manager right click on the item and select update driver and pc will search online for one.

Code 10, lucent win modem not working properly


First uninstall drivers and rebot ur pc
Intall from safe mode but just from device menager do not run setup
