You cannot change the region on the player. If you want to play a region 1 disc, you'll have to use a computer and hook it up to your TV (you can change the region on optical drives a limited amount of times on computers), or acquire a region 1 player.
If you're savvy enough, you could rip (using a computer) the disk into a compressed format the LG system can read (MKV, MP4, etc.) and play it off a USB stick.
Go to device manager in control panel on pc You will see list of devices Click the tab by CD\DVD drives to expand tree Right click on the CD\DVD drive you are needing to change region code Second tab should be Region Code(Region 1 USA) You can only change a limited number of times before it is locked to a region code.

Note: You can change the region a limited number of times. There is a counter listed on this tab that shows you how many time the region can be changed. After changes remaining hits zero, the region cannot be changed again

open your installed dvd drive. There should be a dvd region tab select this
and there you will see all regions you can change to. Remember you can only make a limited number of changes! If this helps please rate me
I do not know of a way to remove the limit from the hardware itself but there are several programs that will strip the RPC region code from the DVD. I've used AnyDVD from Slysoft in the past and it works great but is not a free program.
I'm not sure if there are any programs that are free out there.
The region code is changed by the firmware in your drive, not the software. Go to my computer and right-click your drive, then look at the properties. Go to the hardware tab, click your dvd drive, then go to the DVD Region tab. Note that you can change the region a limited number of times on most drives before it is set permanently.
Legally, the only way to resolve your issue is a new drive, the region code in the drive has been locked in the firmware and cannot be changed by normal means (You can search google for DVD region Code Cracks, but it is not recommended no legal)
Antipiracy laws mandated a limit to the number of times the Region code can be changed (5) and if you are going to be playing a lot of media from different regions, then get another drive and set it to one region (and mark the region on the drive) and use this for the other
It's impossible to make it region free but you get a limited amount of region changes. Open My Computer, right-click on your DVD reader, go to Properties. There go to the hardware tab, double-click on your DVD, it will open a new window. There you have a tab named DVD Region, in it you see how many changes you have and you can pick a country/region to use.
