Power door locks - when you try to lock I hear 3 beeps, on the second try the doors lock. What does the 3 beeps mean
If you press the lock button just
one time the doors will remain unlocked until all of the vehicles doors are closed. 5-10 seconds after closing the doors the vehicle will lock automatically.
I do believe the 3 beeps are telling you that you are about to lock your doors. Additonally that should signal you that have your keys in hand before you locks your keys inside the car. It's just an aural warning reminder that your doors are about to be locked.
Press and hold down both the lock and unlock buttons for fifteen seconds and listen for the beep which will signal that the fob has been programmed. Continue this for all existing and new fobs, you will be able to program four remotes to your Grand Prix and will have to do them all at once due to the memory being forgotten every time you enter Programming Mode. Once you have programmed all of the remotes and heard a beep for each one programmed, remove the key from the ignition to exit Programming Mode. You are now free to test your fobs and ensure that they all work.
