Alpine CDE-9852 CD Player: Can't get iPod function to work. Play Mode toggles between Disc & Tuner only. (Setup / play mode / sub menu is set to play MP3s) Is there a factory reset button I can hit? Thanks! rickriday@verizon.net

You need to have the Alpine optional iPod interface cable.
FULL SPEED™ Connection Cable (KCE-422i)

The unit can be used with third generation and above iPod™
photo, iPod™ minis or iPod™ nano. iPod™ Shuffle cannot be
used, however.
• Touch wheel or scroll wheel type iPods without the dock
connector cannot be connected to the unit.
• The unit can be used with the following iPod versions.
Correct function of earlier versions cannot be guranteed.
Third generation iPod:Ver. 2.3
Forth generation iPod:Ver. 3.0.2
iPod photo:Ver.1.0
iPod mini:Ver. 1.3
iPod nano:Ver. 1.0
• The unit cannot be used with the software versions earlier
than 22nd Feb.2005. For details about “iPod Software
Update”, refer to the iPod Instruction Manual.

Hi,

in other to reset the player you have to get the reset code for the player you are using.

Though it is not free but cheap. You can check this link for codes or your system.

Make sure you are using the blue/white wire to turn the amp on. The blue wire is antenna remote and turns off when leaving tuner mode. The blue/white wire is amp remote turn on.

CAR RDIO MP3/CD. ALPINE 9852. SECOND HAND CAR HAS RADIO RECEIVER AND PROVISION AND JACK FOR ATTACHMENT. NO MANUAL. WHERE CAN I OBTAIN A MANUAL AND WHAT DO I NEED TO PLAY DISCS AND MP3?. REGARDS GEOFF PEACH

go to alpine website and you can pull up a manual from the archives and print it out. Umm as far as playing disks you just flip the face down and load a disk into it and it will play it . you will probably have to have an mp3 cord plugged into it to access the "auxillary" mode under the sources button. But other than that yea just hit the source button and it should switch between tuner cd and aux to play whatever you need it to play

Alpine CDE-102 w/usb port: will not

Hello desoren,

The receiver may not be set to recognize MP3 files.

Press and hold "sound setup" until the unit enters setup mode. Rotate the volume knob to "play mode" and press "enter". Check that the setting is CD/MP3 (not CD/MA), or rotate the volume knob to change the setting to CD/MP3 and press enter again. Press and hold "sound setup" again until the unit exits sound setup.

If the files are still not recognized, I'd try using a different USB drive, a different computer to write the MP3's, and/or a different application to download or rip the original music content.

Hope this helps.
