Billow ring and front clamp

I need to find the instructions on how to replace the rubber billow ring in the front door along with the thin clamp that holds it in the front. Also, where is the quickest and best place to order the part as Sears quoted a 9 day turnaround.

Blue smoke often means bad rings. Expensive repair. Black smoke could mean bad valves. Also an expensive repair.

Check compression. Your mechanic can do that easily, and should not cost a lot.

When moving a whirlpool washing machine (Model AWM 1000) a large thin metal ring (spring-loaded at one end) came out. Where does it go to refit it and how do I refit it? On the machine there's a groove...

It goes to the outer lip of the door opening where the groove is to secure the door gasket. It definitely serve such purpose, not for nothing.

Amana NFW7200TW washer - door seal ring has detached

The ring is a clamp that keeps the rubber part, called the bellow, attached to the front panel of the washer. To reinstall hook the edge of the bellow around the lip of the opening in the front panel (the hole through which you put your laundry). Then take the clamp and seat it in the groove of the bellow behind the lip of the front panel. The spring on the clamp should pull the bellow tight to the opening of the panel.

A HOLE IN THE RUBBER SEAL

You can certainly diy. Unplug the washer. With the door open, look at the bottom of the seal. You'll see a ring clamp. Loosen the screw and remove the clamp. Peel the seal inward. It is easier to complete the seal swap with the front off. Remove the door and set aside. Locate the screws for the front of the machine and remove them, gaining access to the seal. Youcan either set the door to the side with the door lock wires still attached, or unclip them, which is easier. With the seal folded inward, you will likely find another clamp at the bottom. Loosen this as well. Remove the seal and replace with the new one, making sure to orient it like the old one was, and fold it to the inside like you had the old one for removal. Replace the front panel. Complete the seal installation, being careful to make sure that the clamp removed earlier gets put back in the groove and seats well. Reinstall the door. Rubber door seal replacement on my Front Load Washer

OPEN THE DOOR
THERE IS A WIRE AND SPRING CLAMP AROUND THE SEAL, PULL BACK THE SEAL WITH YOUR FINGERS AND YOU WILL SEE IT
TAKE OFF THE CLAMP
FOLD THE SEAL BACK INTO THE DRUM
YOU WILL SEE ( OR FEEL ) A CLAMP AROUND THE SEAL ON THE DRUM
SLACKEN OFF THE SCREW HOLDING IT UNTIL YOU CAN PULL OFF THE SEAL.
FIT A NEW ONE IN REVERSE ORDER.

HINT- WIPING WITH LIQUID DETERGENT WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO FIT THE NEW SEAL.
HINT2 - YOU MAY NEED 4 PAIR OF HANDS TO FIT THE SPRING CLAMP

A wire ring came off

Hi Bert,

That ring (it has a spring on it, right?) is used to clamp the outside of the rubber boot to the outside of the frame <--- where the door closes.

All you have to do is open the door and kneel down in front of the washer. Now, with clamp in hand, work it back into the groove around the outside lip of the boot. Here's the thing you have to know... That spring? It MUST be located at the 6 o'clock position! So when you are putting this thin back, just make sure the spring is located properly.

The reason? Frankly, I don't know. But the Kenmore/Whirlpool service repair manuals say so! So that's what I do, HA!

Anyway, If you don't replace that clamp and you continue running your washer that boot will dislodge from the front panel. Know what happens then? Call Noah, cause there's gonna be a flood.

Hope this helped you! If so, would you please be kind enough to rate me? Thanks!

Vacuum billows dust

Its clogged. It needs to have a thorough clean out and this can be done by removing the sole plate / floor head where the beater bar is and checking to see that all the air ways or the dust channel that flows through t he main spine neck at the back is clear, checking the main spine at the back is clear and finally to check that there is no clogging at the top of the back spine as well. Oreck XL can become clogged quite quickly due to its relatively small suction tube openings and small motor.
