I just turn the printer off, then on again, and then unplug it while the print head is moving. That way, it is unlocked and can be moved around to where you can remove the printhead.

Hi there

I not to sure if this canon has a leaver to lift it out.

But have a look under the inks take out all the inks then you may see a Gray Leaver there where the inks come out left this up and the head wikk come out then gave it a good clean and put back and try again, make sure it sitting in place.

Turn the printer off

Uninstall it and restart the computer

Once restarted, reinstall the printer

Power it on when prompted by the installer. If it does not prompt you, wait until it is done installing and then power the printer on.

Then you should be good to go

Thanks and please click the green ACCEPT button if you are satisfied my answer.

Thanks,

That is is the problem is happening before anything tries to print.

Otherwise let me know, if there's any error lights on the printer itself.

After cleaning the printhead, when asked to print, the carriage moves to the left and the printer turns off.

Hi

Head cleaning is mechanical process, printing is electrical process. If nothing at all ink out/spray from head in printing process, problem with electricity. Damage board or short circuit at head cable. Check board first, may be some component "burn". It is suggested to contacted Epson customer support before further damage occurs.

Please check this bellow tutorial for more details of print head cleaning:-

However check the link bellow for the user guide to your printer, kindly go through it where it gives detailed instructions of various problems along with cleaning of printhead, may be you have performed something wrong to assemble/install the printer after cleaning the print head or some connection problem.

I have to repeatedly carry out cleaning, often deep, to achieve proper prints. The sump may be full but I cannot see how to empty it.

Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.
Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage. Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head. Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now If that does not work then follow the next step.
Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

Printer error 3515

Kodak ESP-5 error message 3515....tried Kodak way but didn't work....could hear the print head attempt to move but couldn't...unplugged unit from power....opened to expose the print cartridges...removed small screws on sides and back of printer...gently pry open top....turn gears on right side with finger toward front several turns.....check and see if print head will now move to center....(I removed cartridges and print head so I could see the blotter under print head move to back position. Re-installed print head and cartridges.) plugged power cord back in and turned on...unit cycled and then screen showed normal....replaced screws in top panel.....printed test page...back in operation......Don't be heavy handed....plastic will break very easy I think when opening panel if not careful...

No print head is installed in the cartridge holder. Open the printer's cover, then open the Inner Cover and install the print head properly. - I don't know how to do this...

What kind of printer. I just installed a new cartridge holder on my kodat easyshare 5100 and it was just easy to snap in to position; you remove the plastic orange caps first. After you do this, if you still have problems with printing, uninstall your software complete, disconnect the cable from printer to computer and then reinstall the software (be sure to hook up the printer when software installation requests you do so and not before). Restart your computer and it should be working fine.

Nothing will print

5 times The print head is not installed [1401], or it is not properly installed (EEPROM data of the print head is faulty) [1403 / 1405]. Install the print head properly, and close the access cover. Or, with the print head installed, turn the printer off and on. This might help
