Hi

The Intex system has an LED that displays various codes when a problem occurs. After one hour of the code flashing and the system beeping, the unit will turn off and not produce any chlorine.

Check the screen for the code that is being displayed. If the unit has turned off, press either the down or up arrow button below the screen to see the last code displayed.

Refer to the owner's manual to identify the code and the meaning. There are three codes that can display. Code 90 is low or no water flow, code 91 is low salt and code 92 is high salt.

Code 90 means the filter is not on, the hoses are clogged, the filter is clogged or the water is flowing in the wrong direction.
There are several things you may need to check and do:

- Ensure the pool pump is on and running.
- Ensure the plunger valves on the pool (if any) are opened.
- Ensure the filter cartridge, cell and debris screen are clean from debris and dirt.
- Ensure the flow sensor (especially the hinge) is clean. See Owner's Manual. Release all trapped air (if any) in the circulation line hose.
- Check he direction of water inlet and water outlet hose. Reverse the hoses if incorrectly connected.
- Check if the flow sensor is loose or not connected properly. If not, please plug the flow sensor firmly into the flow sensor receptacle.
- If code 90 still appears despite above steps, there might be a flow sensor failure. Please contact Intex Service Center for replacement.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

SOURCE: I keep getting code 90 (low water flow) on my

I had the same problem. I cleaned and then changed the filter, cleaned the sensor, everything the book said. It ended up that there were leaves and stuff clogging the strainer right as the water leaves the pool and goes into the hose on the way to the filter. Check there.

SOURCE: intex salt water witha 18x48 witha 2000/gph pump.

nothing is wrong that you cant fix
you must have your salt no lower than 2800ppm
and no higher than 3800
3000ppm is the best
make sure you run filter only for 24 hours once you have correct salt then start generating

one last thing test with strips that read #'s not the color strips

SOURCE: Low salt alarm on Intex system

I had the same problem and my father just kept adding salt wo telling me and it kept saying low salt-I called intex they said to clean the cell with vinegar as instructed in book, and if that didnt help to call back for a warranty claim on the unit bc I just purchased mine in June. I am currently waiting on it to come in. We had to drain half the pool and refill with water and start over. be careful!

System is completely clean (all areas) and it still beeps low flow when we try to get it to clorinate. Is the sensor gone?

If you have checked intake and outake valves at pool end for clogs and opened all the way, cleaned skimmer if using one. checked for blocked air in the system, made sure pump filter is clean, confirmed water is going into the salt generator on right side, and out on the left side, checked that the flow sensor isnt loose, checked that the flow sensor hinge/flap moves freely and is clean, checked that the filter on the right side of the salt generator is clean (most common cause of this problem), and that the electrolytic plates are clear, and if the alarm comes back on after turning off the unit then turning it back on after checking all the above then the sensor probably is bad and you would have to contact Intex Service Center for a new one.
