Try to hold down the power and home keys down for about 15 seconds each while plugged into itunes. When the screen goes black, release the power button but make sure to keep holding the home key until iTunes says; We have detected an itouch in recovery mode.

From there you can restore as normal via iTunes.

Itouch disabled

When your iPod Touch displays a message telling you to connect it to iTunes, it may be in recovery mode, or have been disconnected in the middle of an update.
To get rid of the screen, you must reset your device. If in passcode mode, an iPod Touch must be manually unlocked or fully restored to get back to the home screen.Forcing a Reboot
When your iPod Touch is stuck on a screen that is instructing you to connect with iTunes, a normal restart will probably not work, as the hard drive has become frozen.
You can still, however force the iPod to reboot using a process called resetting.
To reset an iPod Touch, hold down the "Sleep/Wake" and "Home" buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears, indicating that the device is rebooting.
When an iPod Touch reboots, it always goes back to the lock screen. Passcode mode will still be enabled.

Unlocking With the Passcode
If you know the passcode for your iPod Touch, slide the "Slide to Unlock" arrow and then enter your code on the next screen.
Upon entering your password, you will be directed to the device's home screen. If you enter the wrong password too many times, it will become disabled temporarily.
The iPod Touch can also be set to erase all content after 10 incorrect passcode attempts if you previously enabled this feature, don't attempt more than 9 entries.

Unlocking Without Passcode If you have forgotten the passcode to your iPod Touch, the only way to unlock the device is by restoring it.
Restoring an iPod Touch returns it to the factory settings, meaning that any settings, applications or music you added to the iPod are removed.
Once the device is restored, you can re-add your downloads and other information using the backup copies in your computer iTunes program.
The passcode setting will be disabled unless you manually enable it again.

Consideration

If you don't have a backup of your music and applications in iTunes on your computer, you can also download another copy from the iTunes Store or App Store on your device after a restore.
Any photos that are deleted during restore, however, will be lost forever if a backup does not exist.
Always back up your information via sync on a regular basis to avoid this problem.

Forgot my ipod pascode lock

If you own an iPod touch, you have the option to set a password, which Apple calls a passcode, to protect your data. Anyone who attempts to access your iPod, after unlocking it or turning it on, will require the passcode to do so. However, if you forget your passcode or incorrectly enter it, you will eventually see an alert that your iPod touch has become disabled. To unlock your iPod touch after forgetting the passcode, and still access your content, you must connect it to the computer with which you last synced it.

Connect your iPod touch to the computer with which you last synced the music player. Launch iTunes if it does not automatically open. Select your iPod touch under the devices list, and click the "Summary" tab in iTunes. Click "Restore" and, when prompted, click the "Back Up" button to save a back up of your iPod touch in iTunes. Click "Restore" when prompted, after the back up saves. After restoring, click "Ok." Choose the most recent back up from the drop down list on the "Set Up Your iPod" screen. Click the "Continue" button to restore your iPod touch.

Ipod touch is disabled and wont let me put in my pass code to unlock it when i get to itunes!

First, be sure to fully verify you have the right passcode.

If you set up your options on the iPod touch to do a data wipe after 10 incorrect codes, it will wipe the data from your iPod after trying 10 times incorrectly.

If you forgot your passcode or it just isn't working, you may want to do a restore of your iPod touch, either from scratch and do a full re-sync or from your latest backup

From scratch, plug in your iPod to iTunes, and click on it when it shows in the device list on the left side. Click the restore button, and follow the prompts.

From a backup: right click the iPod in the device list and choose "restore from backup" from there choose the backup that is closest to the date before you had the problem.

My ipod touch is disabled i forgot my passcode an i kept entering the wrong answer and it disabled

it may tell you how much time until you can try again. if it does, after that amount of time you will be able to try the passcode again. if, however you truly cant remember your passcode you will need to reset your iPod.

to do this you, unfortunately, will need to erase all the data on the iPod.

plug the iPod into the computer using the included USB cable. open iTunes. Hold down the home and power buttons at the same time until it shuts down and reboots. (if it doesn't open automatically) in the column on the left side of the window there is an icon showing your iPod's name. click on it then click on the button that says "restore iPod"

WARNING: this will erase all the content on the iPod (you can put it back on later)

it will ask you to confirm. hit "OK" and keep your iPod plugged in as it restores it to it original state. pick the language you prefer and then load your music back on the device.

I cant figure out my brothers code to his itouch

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helvetica} Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Times} • If you cannot remember your pass code, you will unfortunately have to restore your iPod Touch which will wipe everything off the iPod and restore it back to factory settings.

The only positive side to this is that your music, video, contacts and calendar settings will still be in tact but you may lose text messages mail and so on.

One more possibility: if you were able to recently sync your iPod with iTunes before you forgot your passcode, when you perform a restore, iTunes will put all of the data of your last sync in iTunes (before the passcode issue) back onto your iPod.

• This is the process which will allow you to regain access to your iPod Touch.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

-Mactechtrainer

Forgot passcode and wont unlock how do I unlock it?

Try to remember your passcode because the solution that I'm going to recommend to you will wipe out all the data from your iPod touch.

If you totaly forgot, the only thing you can do is to put your iPod touch to DFU mode and then restore.

Click here for step by step instruction on how to do that.

I forgot my passcode for my ipod touch.

It seems like you will have to restore it which i have researched and seems to be the only way, this will sadly erase all content so if you are willing to put back your music/videos etc.. back, then go for it you do this by

1) Connect the iPod Touch
2) Press and hold sleep+home until the device reboots.
3) Keep holding until that "please connect me to iTunes"-screen appears
4) iTunes says something about having detected a touch in recovery mode. Allow it to do its thing.

If you get the -18 error, proceed:

5) Disconnect the iPod Touch
6) Close iTunes
7) Reconnect the iPod Touch
8) iTunes launches and shows message as in step 4, but this time, the recovery will work
