We have a samsung 933hd. when we switch on, we get a picture and sound but lose picture after 1 second. Can't get anything on screen even using remote. Switch off then back on and same again , sound ok but...

This is a power supply problem. If the set is under warranty, exchange it.

If you warranty is expired, you can take it to a repair shop and get an estimate to see if it is worth fixing.

My samsung lcd tv (le40r8) wont turn on first thing, it switches itself on and off about 4 or 5 times before a picture appears, how do I fix it?

The capacitors are too small and probably bulging on the circuit board in your. This is a recall problem and 1-800-Samsung will fix for free. They did mine. 5 years old.

It is also not real hard to fix yourself if Samsung won't.

Samsung lcd tv le40r8. tv will not switch on. power into set red light flashing on and off. clicking can be heard from inside tv, near mains plug

The problem is the mainboard tried to turn on TV but failed due to internal circuit problem. Normally, the power supply board is malfuntioned.

Adverts are too loud samsung le40r8

I know this but cant remember it.
Basically go in to the menu & go to audio.
One of the items listed there you have switched on cant remember which one it is but try switching certain sound items off until you get the one causing problem.
Failing that look through user manual in the audio section it will tell you there.

PC Connection problems with TV LE40R8

I've managed to fix this problem with my setup - A Tranquil T2-WHS-A3 using the built in SiS 662 Mirage 1 IGP.

I had the same issue. When I connected the computer to the scren using the vga lead, the screen would power off. I tried a number of different (in spec) resolutions - all the same result. Note that this computer worked fine with two other monitors.

I have now put a KVM between the computer and the monitor. This KVM is serving no pupose but getting in the way! However, it now works!

My guess is that either my video card is outputting slightly over the spec voltage on one or more of the vga lines, or the TV is being picky and wanting lower than the max spec. With the KVM in the way, some of the voltage is dropped across and so it works.

One thing to note I still can't get the largest spec resolution (1360 x 768) to work. but 1024x768 and 1152x864 do work.

Hope this helps!
