The most common reason for not heating enough is air flow. It sounds like you have already checked the vent behind the dryer and made sure you have air flow all the way to the outside vent. That being said, the next most common thing that can happen on a gas dryer is the coil kit on the valve itself can work when the dryer is cold and first starts up. Once the coils heat up a bit they breakdown and turn the gas off. It would have to cool down for a quite a while between cycles to start again.

I would need your complete model number from the tag just inside the door to give specific part numbers and details in how to repair. To check this you can run the dryer, there should be a little window in the front panel near either the right or left bottom corner, take the small square plug from this window, if it does not have a window it may have a lower panel that will hinge down. This will let you view the flame. Watch the flame and it run for a bit then shut off. What happens next is important to know what has failed. Look for a glow in a few minutes. if it glows then the glow goes out without a flame the coils are bad.

I hope this helps. If you need more information let me know, and if you can send the model number with the request that would help

Wont stay hot

This means the gas coils have failed or the dryer vent hose is blocked.

Check the vent hose in the rear of the dryer it's the most common issue.

The heat is not hot enough to dry clothes half load

A dryer either heats or not heat . You have a vent blockage or vent hose kink . Pull the dryer out and remove the vent hose . Dry a load and see if it drys ok . If so , check the vent if it goes thru the wall to outside , or if goes up thru the ceiling , may have to get a cleaner ( line and brush ) at Home Depot .

Maytag dryer ldg7500 - gas continually turns on & off, no heat

Could be a number of things....
The ignitor is bad and it will not keep pulling enough current to hold the gas vavle on.
The dryer cycling thermostat is bad and is cycling it too, shutting the gas valve down too soon before it can run long enough and then turning it right back on.
The vent is blocked or plugged and the air gets too hot to fast.
The high limit switch has gone bad doing the same thing as if the cycling stat goes bad.
Fan/blower is bad and bot moving enough air...same symptoms as blocked vent...
Need to start eliminating the possiblities one by one...

Gas dryer get hot but than goes cold

This sounds like a problem with your fan motor. The dryer is getting too hot and the gas is shutting off until it cools down. That fan keeps the dryer cool by moving the heat to the clothes in the drum.
You can easily check this by feeling for air flow in front of the exhaust vent outside. No air movement = fan problem = heat shut off in 10 minutes. Good luck

Gas Dryer - takes to long to dry

huuum At your service!

Sometimes this can happen when the vent line is clogged.

1. Check if the lint filter is full and needs to be cleaned.
Try this first. If the vent line is kinked or blocked
2. Then check if the outside screen covering the exhaust vent if this is even half blocked
with lint there will be no heat! This screen is to keep small animals out!
Try checking this and if it is clogged or the spring loaded door is stuck closed.
Try to clean the lint out of the corners of the flap door,
and or remove the screen permanently!
Take the vent line off the rear of the dryer and try if it works. If it does you know it's the vent line and not the dryer that's the problem the dryer.

You will be fine
Bless You huuum

Heat shuts off after a few minutes

Check Replace Thermostat. The Dryer Thinks Its Not Lighting Because The Thermostat Isn't Working.

The Dryer Has A Safety Mechanism So It Wont Flood Your Home With Gas. When The Thermostat Is Broken The Unit Doesn't Detect The Heat And Shuts Off The Gas.

Dryer doesn t get hot

it is going to be either the igniter for the gas or the heating element
you probably have an electric igniter. it is not igniting the gas to make the dryer heat i would definantly start with that

Gas dryer not drying properly

you would want to check the force of the air coming out of your vent at the outside.if this is not great.check to make sure your duct is not kinked or your lint screen is clean.if you have already done this.then you have an internal block in your dryer will need to call in your local tech.
