Do these "stains" only appear on flash pics? Are they always in different places on each pic? If so, these are dust particles reflecting the flash back to the lens.

Mark on all pics, but lens clean

Unfortunately, it from your description, it sounds like some dust or dirt is on the CCD sensor. You can try opening and cleaning it if you're adventurous, but I recommend getting it professionally cleaned. You can easily damage the CCD if you're not extremely careful.

Good luck!

Turned on ixus 75 and i have a black screen

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help. Pay particular attention to Fix #5A of the link.

My camera is slightly blurd when i take a picture

I would like to know more about the camera and the type of lens you are using.
A few problems could cause this.
I would try a different lens and see if the picture is not blurred.
Dirt or smudges on the lens can cause it.

The ccd could have some minor dust or dirt on the surface. If you clean this, be extremely cautious how you clean clean it and with what. Special kits are available for cleaning the ccd sensors.
Here is one link with some information. Review Rebel XSI
Here is a link from Konica/Minolta to clean the CCD

In all cases cleaning the ccd is a job which has to be carefully undertaken, otherwise the possibility of scratching it is high. Once scratched, you will need a ccd replacement, a costly project for sure.

If the problem is not in the ccd or the lens, then your camera needs repair. Call support at their website for repair information.

No, if your camera is an Ixus 75, it's more likely that you're experiencing a stuck shutter. A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. Hair and particles on pictures-not on lens or mirror-on sensor

You must have dusty mirror box area. Here is what you should do. 1. Remove lens from the body. 2. Blow out any dust from the mirror box area using can duster (careful not to spew out liquid). 3. go to menu and select mirror up or ccd clean mode. You can also set at manual shutter speed "B" and hold up the mirror. 4. Blow out dusts over the CCD sensor (Do Not Use can air! If any liquid sprayed on CCD the cleaning gets worse) so use Hand-squeezee air bulb. You can purchase one from any camera stores.) 5. test shots and repeat. 6. If this procedure did not resolve the removal of the dust, you can purchase a cleaning solution package and try it. I do not recommend it becasue our techs get lots of cleaning requests from these package. Remember, if you are using these solution, 1. Never give any pressure to the screen, just tissuie touch pressure only. 2. move circular motion as you mouth blow the air as you move. complete the motion exiting through the corner of the screen. Did not work? send it to repair techinician! Our tech cleans it for $49. 24 hour turn around and also checks the camera too. Good Luck

The CCD image digitizer is always screwed directly onto the back of the lens assembly and will contain it's own data ribbon. Take it off the lens, then clean the CCD glass with alcohol and a q-tip.

Black dot appears on screen and on picture

You can open the camera, be very careful to discharge or avoid the flash, IT HURTS!. From there, you can access the LCD assembly, if you take that off, you should be able to access the back of the lens. On the lens is a CCD assembly that is fastened down usually by star screws. The dot might be on the CCD, you can try cleaning that, or else if you remove the CCD that gives you access to the back part of the lens.
Good luck!
