Question about HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4025dn colour laser Printer

1 Answer

Printer jam Just bought a HP Lasetjet CP4025, and I am printing on card stock paper (approx 54lb paper) and it keeps jamming on the 5th or 6th copy. I have the tray set for any size and any type of paper. I have also tried setting tray 1 for heavy stock and 5 x 8 paper size but it keeps jamming.

Make sure tray 1 is set for "auto-sense/full sensing".
Make sure the feed rollers are clean or just replace them

    Hello,

I know I am very late to the scene but did you ever get a resolution to your jamming problem with 5X8 54lb media from tray 1? If not, let me know and I may be able to help.

    Thanks,
    Dave

We are trying to print on a card stock ,110 lb. , 8.5x11 Paper keeps jamming. Will this printer work with card stock?

It will only work if the printer supports feed through from the back. If the paper has to go in the same side of the printer that it comes out it will jam.

Paper jams with card stock

Lubricate the print head shaft. Not too much as it will collect dust.

I AM TRYING TO PRINT HEAVY STOCK CHRISTMAS CARDS -

If its heavier than 60 to 105 gsm (16 to 28 lb), then your printer can not take that type.
HP Specifications
Unless there is a manual feed on the back, the paper won't be able to bend well inside of the printer, hence the jam.

Can not get the card to feed the printer

This printer isn't designed to take heavy paper, only office standard, and slightly heavier for smarter documents / photos. Best idea would be to print one on smart bright white paper (or desired colour), and take it to a copy shop where they can print onto card. The problem is that the thin paper will easily roll round the rollers at the back, however the thicker paper can't, and therefore jams with the rollers tickling the end of it.

Good luck, and congrats on wedding :)

Printer keeps reading paper jam

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

I have hp photosmart 7850. I was printing envelop and there was paper jam. I pulled out the stock and jammed envelop and ever since the printer would not load paper to prinit and keeps flashing for error....

I have had this happen to several people and also to me. What I did is to take a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy Paper) and put it through the feed putting pressure on the Card Stock and pressing on the feed button. What happens is that a piece of the jammed envlope or document gets caught in the feed way and will not allow the document or envelope ( in your case) to pass. It should solve your problem if it works. Bud

Document jam

There is most likely a very small piece of paper in the document feeder.
What you can do is take a minella folder or some card stock, open the document feeder cover and shove the folder or card stock through the feeder to dislodge whatever is stuck in there.
The document sensor itself may be knocked out of position.
It can't be the copy paper path since you can print.
