I dropped my samsung E840 phone in the bath 2days ago and the screen went black but the phone still lit up...the screen is now back to normal but goes black every now and again and the numbered buttons are...

Recent phones dont agree with water to much, but what you can do is pull it apart and spray it all with a electric cleaner, but if you have insurance on your phone that would be the best way to replace it, warranty wont cover it. you could try to hard reset it but most likely wont work still

I have a motorola razr v3x phone, problem with water damage

I dropped my in the bath tub giving my little girl a bath. I pulled the back cover and battery out and sat it upside down, back faceing up, under a lap and turned it over every hour. The next morning put the battery in and closed it up, no problems - till the next time it went swimming and had to repete the process.

My blackberry 8100 pearl is dead ...

I was having this same issue and I was thinking it was caused from me dropping my phone. I tapped lightly around my phone after trying turning it on for several hours and now it has come back on which means there is most likely a loose connection inside somewhere. I hope this helps.

Drop phone in bath

The only thing you can do is dry it out more with heat(hairdryer). Remove the battery while doing this. If you still have the same problem then yes, unfortunately the keypad has shorted out.

Submerged my vx8300 phone in water

this oes look serious and there is really a very small chance that the phone would be able to work after veing in the water and recovering after such a long time This might just not help  but seeing the condiion  you might also try to wipe off any water in the battery panel use a ear bud to do so you might see a few drops of water .  clean them up Maybe the phone would start working also keeping the phone in front of the heater is not a good idea if the heater is giving out a  lot of heat electronics dont respond well to heat try putting the phone below a Lamp or something they give decent heat
hopefully your phone would be up and running in the next few days.

Dropped my phone in the bath. doesnt appear to turn on. got new phone but dont have the numbers. can i get the numbers off the phone somehow?

the water is not a reasonable damage for the phone it self. you should simply let it dry for a couple of weeks ( is it thaks that long) close to a ventilated area. after this period of time, plug the battery again and it should turn on. don't try the hairdryer thing, because it has to naturally dry. Ciao!

I'm sorry but those buttons are probably suffering from corrosion which is like rust in a car you can hide it but it is still there.

Weird

Take out the battery, wait 20 seconds, then put the battery back into the phone. That will help you reset it. If you havent dropped it at all or that much, you might want to ask your provider about any possible recalls on situations like that. My treo had a recall. I didnt know until it was out of the warranty...call them before its too late for you!
