There should be a setting in the BIOS to ignore errors so you can get it to boot. It's usually set to halt on all errors by default.

Floppy disket failure

shibukpza,

If your floppy disk has failed you can contact the Dell Spare Parts Department at 1-877-717-3355bsat4ube4gblqiaaaaasuvork5cyii= to purchase one. You can also click the link below. If you do not use the floppy disk you can boot into the system bios by pressing the F2 key at boot up. Once in the bios you can disable the floppy controller.

Desktop wont boot past floppy disk seek failure

There is a menu in the BIOS (set-up) menu that disables the floppy drive. This option enables or disables the floppy drive.

Floppy Diskette Seek Failure Drive 3 Not Found: Parallel ATA, PATA-1

If your computer has the old floppy disk drive on it, then Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Case and then remove the cable from the back of the floppy disk drive. Evidently the drive is bad.

If there is no floppy disk drive on your computer, turn the computer off, restart it and watch the screen for which key it says to hit to get into the System Bios or System Setup and hit that key. You have to hit the key when you see the message or it will not work and you will have to reboot it. Once you get into the bios check your devices and drives for the Floppy drive and set it to None or Not available ( It is probably set on auto or enabled). Also check your Boot Sequence or Boot Order in the bios and remove the Floppy Disk from being in the boot sequence or set it to be after the Hard Drive and CD Drive.

My Dell optiplex 210L boots up into a menu that says floppy seek failure strike f1 to continue f2 to run utility

You took your battery out and your computer lost all memory of what components it has installed. Hit F2 to get into the System Bios Setup. Look for your Disk drives and you will see your floopy disk drive there also. You should set the Floppy to Not Installed or None. It is probably set to Auto or 1.44.

I have an optiplex gx150 pIII, with a floppy drive. I downloaded the set up floppy so I could do a new install. after running the floppy disk, the messages says hit enter to continue. I place the xp sp2...

You don't need the install floppy... hit the F12 key when booting and you will get a boot order selection and tell it to boot to the CD. If it still doesn't see the HDD then you are most likely having a disk read problem with your hard drive. If that is the case you should boot into the system BIOS and see if the HDD is recognized there.

Dell Optiplex GX50 won't load windows OS

Which cdrom is it? Is it a windows XP cd? This is an older PC? Does it have a floppy disk drive? Try downloading from Barts a bootable floppy disk, set boot order to floppy in BIOS, change to cdrom drive letter after booting to floppy (D:?)
got to I386 folder and set up from there.
More info would be helpful.

Check your BIOS. If it rebooted chances are it might work if you change the way the BIOS sees and boots the devices. Try rebooting without the flash drive in. What happens?
