How do I blacklist this cell phone?

The United States and Canada now have blacklists for stolen phones. Contact your service provider to get your phone put on the blacklist. Once on the blacklist, the theory is no service provider will activate it.

Good luck,

My galaxy s6 edge has been blacklisted how do I get it off the blacklist

It is blacklisted because it has been reported stolen. Where did you get it Melissa?

Take the phone and yourself to the shop or mall kiosk of your cellphone carrier. Tell them the reason why your phone should NOT be blacklisted. Only they can remove it.

What does it mean for a GSM mobile device to be unlocked? What sort of locks are there? How is that different from Blocked? What is a Barred or Banned or Blacklisted cell phone? That is what this guide will look at. Blacklisted - If you phone is lost or stolen you can report the International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI) to your carrier. They will broadcast that number throughout their network and make it impossible for the phone to connect to make a call. This known as blacklisting the phone. This is sometimes called a barred or banned device. In some areas the various carriers share the IMEI numbers of lost and stolen devices making it impossible to use the device on any carrier. In some countries this sharing is a requirement of law.
A blacklisted phone should be returned to the owner. This can be done by dropping it off to the carrier branded on the phone. Then it is up to them to return it to the subscriber. You can check with your carrier prior to purchase to see if a phone will activate on that carrier. You will need the IMEI from the seller, then you are a phone call away from knowing if you are about to buy a lost or stolen lightweight desk ornament.

How do I remove Samsung Galaxy S5 Active imei number from blacklist?

You will need to ask your cellphone provider. Normally blacklisted because it is stolen, or has been moved to another carrier when the previous carrier still owns the phone under an unexpired contract. This is the official line on this

You can check your IMEI number is Blacklisted in AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Telus, Sprint...Blacklist IMEI is lost, stolen or ineligible (Bad, Barred, Blocked, Financed, Under Contract) mobile phone. Always check blacklist before buy, sell or get phone.

I bought a cell phone found out its stolen how do I get it to work

Sounds like the phone has been reported stolen to the national blacklist database (Central Equipment Identity Register) to prevent thief. Effectively the handset becomes absolutely useless and you are in possession of a high tech paper weight! :-))

Nokia n95 provider call barring, i found a nokia n95 and it's unlocked except when you put a simcard in it and try and make a call it says 'call barring activated' can this be unlocked and if so how????

You'll need PIN2. If that doesn't work then phone is reported lost/stolen and is blacklisted, ie phone wont work, but still can be used as music player...

Cannot detect the network connection

if the sim is definately ok and the phone isnt in flight mode, the Phone may be faulty, blacklisted or not designed to be used in your region (eg gsm phone in cdma only area)
Ask your service provider (people who suply your sim card) if your IMEI (type *#06#) is blacklisted, if so the previous owner has registered it lost or stolen or not paid their bill

Blacklisted or Barred Handsets

What is it all about???
A phone may be blacklisted (or barred) for many different reasons, but the most common reason is that it has been reported either lost or stolen! It is only the networks (Orange, T-Mobile, O2, Vodafone etc) that have the facility to blacklist a handset.

If you are unfortunate enough to either lose or even worse have your phone stolen you should report it to your service provider (your network) immediately!
Your service provider can then blacklist the handset so that it can no longer be used to make or receive any calls. The networks do this by adding your phones serial number onto a national blacklist database (Central Equipment Identity Register). Effectively the handset becomes absolutely useless and the thief is in possession of a pretty paper weight! :-))

So How Does Blacklisting Work?
Every mobile phone has a unique serial number. This serial number is called the IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity). It can normally be found underneath the phones battery and it is 15 digits long.

Now each time you switch your phone on or attempt to make a call the network systems check the IMEI number of the handset you are using. At this point the IMEI number of your handset is cross referenced with the Central Equipment Identity Register. If the IMEI number of your handset is on the CEIR then the network will either:

1) Refuse to send a signal to your phone (No signal strength at all)

2) OR WILL supply a signal but will not allow any outgoing or
incoming calls.

If your IMEI number is on the CEIR your handset is blacklisted and therefore useless.
