My Rainbow Aquamate II has water flowing and there are no clogs in the tubes, however, the white water basin does not seem to have any suction pulling the cleaner from the bottle. How can I fix this???

Call me crazy ... but what is a reversable vacuum?? I was able to siphon the cleaning solution through the tube so I know there is no clog ... but once I attach the tube back to the fitting it will not pull through

  • ctcaffrey May 06, 2010

How can I determine what is causing my Aquamate II not to pump the cleaning solution? The other water tube is flowing perfectly. I don't believe there are any clogs or kinks in the tubes as I am able to siphon the solution easily.

There is no bag at all ... its a Rainbow Aquamate carpet cleaner ... not the vacuum

  • ctcaffrey May 07, 2010

Thank you!! I will try this

Hello, kindly check for a clog and also follow the instructions below.when you experience no suction pulling the cleaner from the bottle,it's either you are having a clog or probably the water gauge is not ok.

  1. Put the hose and see if suction is good. If it is – you may have had nozzle installed wrong or brush roll may be worn out (bristles must be sticking out of the nozzle by about 1/8 of an inch).
  2. If there is no suction with the hose either – check if bag is not overfilled to the point where dirt is blocking the fill tube hole.
  3. If two above are fine – something must be blocking the air passage from the fan to the bag. Check for clogs in the fill tube (tube inside the cloth bag) and mini emptor (bag bottom plastic part) and also see if there is something blocking the exhaust on the vacuum. You may not even see it so use a piece of wire. Once I found a sock there and it was so close to the fan that I could not see it in the hole and was only able to get it out using a homemade hook made from a coat hanger.
take care.

hello,If water pan/u can remove pump assembly by breaking off the 4 locking
pins and dissasemble the pump parts, the main problem is one that has
set up for a while has a stuck spring which when you free it up the
unit will work properly. when you re-assemble the pump you will need to
use epoxy glue to hold the motor to the tank housing, no problem here,
unit will work well. Just be careful and watch where the springs go
when you take the pump apart. It is a very simple device.

If you have a reversable vacuum cleaner then blow the line out backwards or see if you have a pump of some sort that will work. Just a suggestion. The Raz

If its not cloggd then it must be a pump that is not working on it. A reversable vacuum is a vacuum cleaner like some shop vacs as well as house hold vacs that you can switch the hose and make it blow air instead of **** the airin. Sorry i could not be of more help. If I was there I could see everything and then come up with the fix but not from here. Raz

  • Raz Mataz May 06, 2010

I didn't say it was. You asked what a reverse flow was and I said it was on some of the vacuum cleaners and you could have blown out the line. Good Luck

Ok is there any type of rollers on the bottom or any where that the rollers when turning would also run the pump so to speak. Like a vacuum cleaner stand up style has rollers on the bottom that can get strung up by string or other items that prevent it from turning. Just another thought to check on.

Aquamate II doesn't come on

The early version of the AquaMate II was very sensitive to clogging. Run very hot water through all the lines in the wash cycle to clean out soup buildup. Let us know if that fixes it.

New Rainbow aquamate. It is not letting the water flow through.

Sometimes it takes up to 10 or so minutes for the Aqua mate 2 to begin pumping out anything.

If it is the new Aqua mate 12 (the big blue one, that is like a giant power head) the same thing is true for it.

I need to know how to attach the aquamate accessory to my rainbow vacuum. It's a D4 C model

You should have a non-electric hose which you want to attach to the vacuum suction, then take the long skinny hose and hook it to you kitchen faucet. You may have to unscrew the end piece from your faucet. turn on youir hot water. On the handle of the aquamate, there is a little holder. Unhook it by releasing the yellow button. Put your shampoo to the line, no need to dilute, the Aquamate will mix the right amount to the water. Now you are ready to shampoo. You can pick up water until you hear the machine stress out. That is time to change the water in the basin. It is probably best to change it before that, but don't worry, the separator keeps it out of the motor. Hope this helps fixya! Thanks, Let me know, Rene (the Vacuum Doctor)

Aquamate II NOT WORKING !!

If this is pre-owned unit that you bought - it may be clogged. If people who had it did not rinse shampoo solution out of the system after using it - shampoo becomes thick and sticky when dry and may clog the tubes. Also it may impair the pump.

Pump may also be defective. It should make a humming noise while in operation. It is hard to hear when vacuum is on so take the Rainbow with water bowl of the white AQM basin, turn on the vacuum while AquaMate is still plugged in, put your hand on the black plastic on the white AquaMater water nontainer and you should feel pump vibrating inside.

If you feel it start with filling up the white tank and bottle with warm water, turn AQM on and try rinsing it. However if water can not get through at all - it will not help.

Then take the handle apart (a bit tricky but be careful ant to break the plastic and you will get it open). See if there are no clogs there. in tubes nor the VALVE.

If no clogs fing - you will have to acces the pomp and few short tubes inside this plastic box assembled onto the water tank. to get it open you may have to break off 4 latches that hold top halve to the bottom. You can purchase one HERE. Make sure that tubes inside are not bent at the sharp angle and obstructing the flow. If you need any tubing - you can find it cheap at Home Depot (have a sample with you so you pick the right diameter).

Clean all tues inside and you possibly will have to take the pump apart to get it cleaned. If it is not working you can buy one HERE.

Stil no luck - put EVERYTHING in a plastic bag or several bags and then in a box and ship it to us - we will get it running.

Good Luck,
Rocky

I have my vacuum set to shampoo a rug, but cannot get the water to come out

Sometimes it takes up to 10 or so minutes for the Aqua mate 2 to begin pumping out anything.

If it is the new Aqua mate 12 (the big blue one, that is like a giant power head) the same thing is true for it.

If it is an earlier model Aquamate, then it is clogged somewhere in the hose, or the fluid control valve is clogged.

The water separator is the thing that spins in the center of the motor where your water basin attaches to it. It looks like a cone shaped fan looking thing. It should be cleaned after every use.

Use your Rainbow separator cleaning brush, or a tooth brush, if you do not have the Rainbow one. They are just like tooth brushes.

Never store your Rainbow canister on your water basin, with or without water in it. It can and will ruin your vacuum in dew time.

Rainbow aqua mate II instructions

You have the vacuum and the basin, you put them together just like when you vacuum but don't put water in the basin. There is a large white container that comes with the shampooer. you fill that up with water and then you place the vacuum cleaner and the basin on top of that. Now you will need the water hose (not the one that has the gas pump hadle). Hook that in the same spot that you do for vacuuming. Then you take the shampooing handle( it will have a trigger and a little white bottle and some tubes hooked to it) the one end of it hooks to the water hose and the other end hooks to the wands. There are 2 wands that come with your shampooer. At the end of those the shampooer head will be attached. There are two separate tubes there is a thick tube ( there two tubes fused together) and a thin tube, they hook to the large white container that you fill with water. Just look and you will see where they go. Then there is a tube that hooks to the shampooer head at the bottom. The you take the little bottle and fill it with your shampoo. You should have gotten some clips to hool onto your hose so that you can keep the tubes attached to it so they aren't in the way. You should be set. I hope I helped.
