Question about GE GSH25JFR Side by Side Refrigerator
I have a GE side by side fridge (model GSS23LGTA) about 3yrs old. The dispenser unit on the front stopped working. It won't dispense water or ice. The ice maker inside is working fine. The 'water' indicator comes on when I push its button, but goes off when I press the dispenser handle. If I keep the dispenser handle pressed, it gives a light click every 2 sec, and the 0 for the freezer temp flashes. I have a feeling something's broken in the circuitry. Any ideas?

INSIDE THE DISPENSER ASSEMBLY IS A SEPARATE ELECTRONIC BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE DISPENSER.
OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR SOLENOID OR THE CUBE ICE SOLENOID WILL SHORT OUT CAUSING A BURNOUT OF THE DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. CHECK FOR A BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE DISPENSER HOUSING. IF YOU SMELL IT, THE BOARD AND/OR SOLENOID NEED TO BE REPLACED.

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

Check the ice maker see it is in the right position, maybe you can try pull out the ice maker and clean it and push it back, make sure the position is right.

is your soap door open when this happens if it is then make sure there's no water or other liquids in the dispenser from loading the washer one tablespoon of water in there will clump up the soap and it won't drop when it pops open
