Any brand that is made to fit in in a PCI slot. Try Best buy or Tigerdirect.com. Also, go into your bios settings when computer 1st starts and shut off the built in lan on your motherboard (see computer manual or online support for your brand)

Resource Conflicts errors for PCI in Slot 01

hey carl - first thing - laptop or desk top - if desk top (tower) remove all slotted cards and boot system - when it boots completely to home screen. shut down and insert 1 card at a time until you recieve you nasty screen. or boot into safe mode f10 or12 get in and disable all your cards -windows system- control panel - then turn on one by one doing a reboot - when you do find the conflicting card you should be able to figure which card or cards they conflict to - you will have to change the resource allocations on probable 2 or 3 cards to allow all to work - there all lots of sites that will explain this better - hope this helped

Can i put 1gb video card to my RC410m-L

im in the car forum , why is this here?
i truly dont know....... but if true, answers will be hard to find.

that RC4 card is old and slow....
id computers too, and can answer.
the card you have , uses what is called a buss.
what you do is , read the mobo spec for you PC
and find which expansion slots you have.
then match the video card to that slot.
some E-machines (warmart junk) have no slot.
msi page, (home) shows
One PCI Express x 16 slot. (supports PCI Express Bus specification v1.0a compliant)
• One PCI Express x 1 slot. (supports PCI Express Bus specification v1.0a compliant)
• Two 32-bit v2.2 Master PCI bus slots. (support 3.3v/5v PCI bus interface)

so you have these slots.
find a video car that 1 one of those bus, connectors.
and if said video car , needs special, power connectors
your old power supply will not do that. its too old.
go to geek squad, they know the ropes.
ask them for options
better, ask and say why you need to change video on such
an old slow machine.?

Use of PCI-e x16 slot for non-video card

...........................................!O_O!...........................................................

WHY would you want to do that?

There is a PCI-Express x1 slot on the motherboard.
Black in color, and in-between the black PCI-Express x16 slot, and a white PCI slot.

Use the PCI-E x1 RAID adapter card in the PCI-E x1 slot, and a PCI-Express graphics card in the PCI-E x16 slot. Sheesh!

A PCI-Express slot is not an evolved PCI slot.
Completely different technologies.

PCI uses a shared Parallel bus architecture, while PCI-Express is based on Serial point-to-point.

So your idea of how to 'fix' your problem, is to use a PCI-E x1 card in a PCI-Express x16 slot, and a PCI graphics card in a PCI slot?

Completely backwards.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

PCI-Express x16 slot uses the same lanes from the Northbridge, as the OnBoard video?

UTTER NONSENSE!

The Northbridge chip handles the Faster capabilities of a computer.
Handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and HIGH-SPEED Graphics.

HIGH-SPEED graphics is the Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) technology, and the PCI-Express technology.

The Southbridge chip handles the Slower capabilities of a computer.

The PCI bus is one of those slower capabilities handled by the Southbridge chip.

The PCI bus is also a shared bus. This slows data down.
The AGP bus, and PCI-Express bus are Not shared. They also have a direct link to the Northbridge chip.

The PCI Bus has to go through the Southbridge chip, which has to go through the Internal Bus, THEN to the Northbridge chip.

OnBoard video, or Integrated Graphics, uses the PCI bus.
When you inserted the PCI-E x1 RAID card in the PCI-Express x16 slot, and a PCI graphics card in the PCI slot, BIOS just assigned another IRQ for the PCI-Express x16 slot.
(Interrupt Request)

No fancy technology going on there.

Backwards technology going on with a PCI-Express x1 card in a PCI-Express x16 slot, though.

I do not concur, and do not think that is a good solution, Kevin.

M3N78-VM LAN PORT& PCI PROBLEM

1) How do you know that PCI slot is not working? Tried another PCI expansion card in it? Perhaps another LAN adapter card?
(Ethernet Card)

A LAN adapter card will go bad before a PCI slot will.

2) PCI expansion slot is bad? No other PCI slot to use?
Then here is a suggestion,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3504463&csid=_61

Plug it into any available USB port on the computer.
It is a GigaByte Ethernet solution, also. (10/100/1000)

I have Acer m5641 desktop,& I bought Encore Gigabit pci lan card. When I install it to the Pci slot my computer is not working what should I do?? pls. help me!!

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and make sure you have the LAN Card pushed down in the pci slot all the way. If it is not in the slot all the way, the computer will have problems.

I'm assuming you replaced your old network card with this Encore card because the old one which is built onto the motherboard stopped working, right? If not, remove the Encore Card and reboot to see if your system boots up. If it does, and when you put the Encore card back in all the way it still does not boot, then maybe you bought a card that is not compatible with your system. Maybe you bought a VGA type card and you might need a AGP type or vice versa.

My network adapter " broadcom 802.11n newtwork adapter" is experiencing driver or hardware related issues

I think it needs dusting. do the following:
1.Open your computers cabinet and plug out the LAN card from the PCI slot.
2 Clean the PCI slot and LAN with brush
3. Insert it again in some other PCI slot if your motherboard have .
4. Install the drivers after the windows found the hardware.
Hope it work.

Lan card

Use a different PCI slot and reinstall the drivers for your LAN card. If this does not fix the problem there may be a compatibility issue between the network card and some other software (eg. irq conflict etc.), or the LAn card may be slightly faulty and have problems on some motherboard.
In this case you can try troubleshooting the problem.
If you cannot find out the problem at a glance, checking in device properties, you may be forced to reinstall Windows. In this case I suggest to just replace the part. The Ethernet (LAN) pci card is quite an inexpensive part, and you can still use this one on a different computer.
