It sounds like Verbose Startup. Try to reset the P RAM:

Hold down four keys, P + R + Command +Option and turn it on, it will reboot. Let go of the keys after you hear the second chime.
This should clear the white on black, but you may have a boot problem as well if your system isn't coming up all the way. This may require a software reload.

You should be able to do a clean install of Windows. Just insert the installation disc and press any key when indicated. Optical drive needs to be the first boot option. Go into BIOS and change it is not.
As for disc, you have to use the same Windows version as indicated on the MS Product Key sticker, because of the serial number.

Try doing a hard reset. A lot of electrical devices have a small reset button you will need to press this button using a toothpick or pin, and hold it in for 10-30 seconds. If you do not have this option, try removing the battery for 10 seconds and then putting them back in. If this does not help you will either have to contact Sony support to see if it is under warranty for repairs, or contact someone local to you that can fix gaming systems. Just do a Google search to find local gaming repairmen. Let me know if you have any questions.

The easiest way to resolve this problem should be to reset the SMC - System Management Controller - which deals with how power is distributed to various parts of your Mac, including the fans.

How to reset it depends on what kind of Mac you have, though.

For 'desktop' Macs, including iMac and Mac Pro:

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
  3. Wait fifteen seconds.
  4. Attach the computer's power cord.
  5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.

If you have a portable with a battery you cannot remove:
  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
  3. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
  4. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
  5. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

If you have a portable with a battery you can remove:
  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
  5. Release the power button.
  6. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
  7. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
That should take care of the problem. Good luck!

Hi, unfortunately not every accessory that you can use for windows based pc's is good for Mac platform. This is why when you click on Autorun.exe the Mac won't install anything and won't work.
You should check if the device you want to use is Mac compatible. If you don't have the original package you should go to producers website and search for your device compatibility list.
If your device is not designed for Mac paltform you have to buy another device Mac compatible.

When powering it up it starts to boot I get a blue screen then it goes black where do I start ?

Try starting your mac from it's install disc.
1) First turn off your computer.
2) Then restart it, right when you push the power button to turn it on, press the option key down and hold it
3) pressing the option key will bring to a screen where you can choose your startup disk. Usually, you'll see your Macintosh HD available to startup from. Don't choose anything yet.
4) Insert your install disc into the CD slot.
5) wait a couple of seconds and then clock on your install disc as your startup option.
6) after clicking on the disc, go to the menubar and click on Utilities then disk utility.
7)once the disk utility app is open hit "verify disk permissions"
8) after you've "verified disk permission" hit "repair disk permissions"
- this might take a long time depending how much you've actually done this (which it's good to do every other month or so to keep your mac running smoothly). things might seem to freeze up as well, but it's the mac trying to verify and repair broken permissions on your computer. Don't that's normal.
9) after you have repaired the disk permission, reboot your mac by quitting disk utility and then choosing the startup disk as your normal macintosh HD. That should do the trick. If not, tell us what has changed.

Hello, It looks like a dead hard drive... To check your hard drive and see if you can repair it yourself, reboot your computer press simultaneously the "cmd" and "s" keys at startup if you see a black screen with white text, type: fsck -f and hit enter this does a "file system check", when finnished, type "reboot" and press enter. If nothing better happens, you'll certainly have to brinng it to an Apple Authorized Center Best regards

Hi Garfo,

Try this:
  1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
  2. Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the computer's battery.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button.
  4. Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter.
  5. Press the power button to restart the computer
That resets the SMC and should fix your problem.
