Most detergent injectors work by the venturi system. That is that the detergent is drawn into the stream by the forward flow of the water thru a very narrow port after the water passes thru the pump. This system works best when the pressure at the tip of the wand is low. Trying using a very large tip to draw in and apply the detergent, then remove injector and rinse with high pressure. Not good for the pump but to apply soap reliably under high pressure the soap needs to be injected through the intake of the pump. enjoy

Pressure variance is caused by the unloader/pressure regulator valve or slipping belt on belt drive systems. Worn packings in the unloader will not maintain pressure. Try lowering the pressure to 1000 psi then slowly increase until problem reveals then lower pressure again to maintain steady stream. This problem can also develop if the wrong size tip is used in the gun. Example, if output rating is 3000 psi at 4.5 gal per min and you are using a tip for 3000 psi at 4 gpm. The unloader will release causing variance of pressure. Easy way to lower pressure of system is to increase the size of the tip to 5 or 5.5 gpm in a system rated at 4.5 gpm. Enjoy

On most pressure washers you wont be able to draw soap/bleach into pump unless you are spraying on low pressure. There is a valve on the inside of inlet hose fitting that closes when high back pressure is sensed.Would it draw bleach into hose when wand tip is removed?
