Question about Danby DWC283BLS Wine Cooler

1 Answer

Danby DWC283BLS Wine Cooler . top fan is not working, the cooler is not cooling to set temperature. removed the fan, checked the fan, it works OK. no output from the board. Question: is the board bad or possible associated sensor. also it ices up which is probably part of the fan issue.

HI. This will be a simple fix here. The culprit will be the main PCB. There is a fan control relay on that board that has failed. The necessary actions are to replace the damaged board, asap. Once the MAIN PCB has been replaced, the unit will return to its normal functioning properties.

The replacement of the entire PCB or Logic board, will be the better solution, in my estimation. It could be a stealth issue that may have caused the relay to fail. This could be extensive, and may have cascaded throughout the circuitry of the board.

I would recommend to replace the entire PCB(Logic board)

Wine cooler frost buildup

Some dual temperature wine coolers build up frost in the rear and top of the main compartment. Check the defrost timer, located either inside the main compartment near the light, or outside on the back of the wine cooler near the compressor. Look in the owner's manual for the correct settings for the defrost timer and adjust yours as needed. Make sure that you have the wine cooler in a spot where the outside temperature remains at or near room temperature to reduce frost buildup.

We have a danby dwc283bls wine cooler that no longer cools, and the compressor gets warm (above normal) does it need to be recharged

that's always a possibility but not always the case. The thermostat may not be cycling correctly or set wrong. The condenser could be dirty or if there is a fan, it may not be running. Freeze ups can also cause an "Out of temp." condition. Check it out.

How to reset the temperature on the danby silhouette wine refrigerator

This happened to me, I found that the cooler would not go below 70 degrees because the cooler had lost its coolant or wouldn't work. I do not know, but as it was under warranty, an appliance repairman came and said that it was worth fixing, so it was replaced with in a week. Normally you would just hole the button in until the desired temperature is selected. Once released the cooler would attempt to set this temperature. If it is not, then I suspect it too is broken. Good luck.
