Question about Jensen TS2750J TV
Its a 27' magnovox 2003 model . We dont have the original remote to it. We did program a universal remote to it and the power then came on. All the buttons on the set won't work at all. Not even the power button. Which we thought it was shot, so to speak, until we tried the universal remote to it.
The tv came on and all you see is its on child lock. How do you take this off?
Its a nice tv and in good shape, Please help-
Very stumped, Krissy Mayo
Maybe this will help you overcome those pesky child locks
Philips and Magnavox:
Philips sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for Philip sets is 0711, although it may say "Incorrect code" the first time to trick you. If "Incorrect code" is displayed, simply enter 0711 again. To use it hit the MENU key to get to the menus. Go up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK, depending on the model, and push the "right arrow" key on the remote. Enter the override code, and enter it a second time if it says it is incorrect.
Good luck and let us know how this turns out for you.

Without your specific model number, I'm limited to precise programming. However I believe I can offer some relief. First of all, the line of televisions Magnanox offered in 2003 also came with a 'tiered' level of child proofing for the remote control.
Now, before I address that, I will offer that you can try a simple unplug from the wall of the TV for 24 hours after you have had it 'on' - to reset it. This may or may not reset the internal software for the child proofing.
Back to the programming, Maganavox offers from their remote the ability to filter movies and shows based on ratings what can be watched and when. Plus most models also could have an override code.
I strongly suggest you consider either fully programming the universal remote you have, or purchasing a universal remote that fully supports that TV / model and programming it. That way you will be able to have full access to all the features and restrictions that the prior owner may have had in place. Also, I would get free of charge the owners manual on line for your TV. In the event you aren't familiar with this that process, just type in the full make, model and then 'owners manual' in the search bar of your browser. You should get a links to an Adobe .pdf file to download and / or print your owners manual. If you have questions about your universal TV remote programming, I'll be glad to field anything there as well.
If this is not helpful, please let me know right away. If this solves your problem, let me know that too :). I'm happy to help, but happiest if your problem is resolved.
