Is it possible to downgrade and unlock an iphone

I have an iphone 3gs which I got last summer. It froze yesterday and I followed instructions to restart in itunes. Ended up restoring to latest firmware. I'm in the UK using T mobile. Is it possible to downgrade and unlock to a previous firmware with latest firmware 3.1.2? and unlock to a previous bandwidth?

How to retrieve passcode to iphone 3gs

You can if it is a simple password- only four numeric digits. If the complex pass code was enabled in your settings then you will have to restore it through iTunes and lose all of your saved info. If you aren't worried about that just turn the phone off, hold the home button down while you plug it into your computer and keep holding the home button down until iTunes recognizes your phone in recovery mode. Then follow the prompts on your screen until it is restored. If you are trying to save the info on your phone just go to iPasswordhelp com and follow the instructions. I'll link the video below.

Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
Before you restore your device
  1. Make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Use iTunes to back up your device and transfer and sync any additional content to your computer.
  3. Turn off Find My iPhone in Settings > iCloud on your device to disable Activation Lock.
Restore your iOS device
  1. Connect your iOS device to your computer using the cable that came with it.
  2. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes. In the Summary pane, click the Restore button for your device.
  3. Click Restore again to confirm that you want to restore your device to factory settings and delete all data and content. iTunes will download the iOS software file and restore your iOS device.
  4. After your iOS device is restored to factory settings, it will restart, and you'll see the "Slide to set up" welcome screen. Follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. You can set up your device as new or using a previous backup. If your iOS device has cellular service, it will activate after you restore.

We are experiencing the problem of the phone has froze on itunes it has a picture of the usb lead and itunes on the screen The phone was connected to the computer to upgrade and allow itune downloads when...

That means that the phone is in recovery mode. Same thing just happened to mine the other day.

Unplug the phone. Restart it. Hold down the home button and the power button at the same time till you see the apple logo. Once you see the restore (usb - itunes) plug the phone back in. Select your device in the list and there should be an option to Restore the device.

If you do all that and click restore. Your problem should be fixed/

There may be some firmware corruption. Try to restore your device.

To restore:
1. Connect your device to your pc
2. Launch Itunes. Itunes should pick up your device
You may need to update the itunes version to latest one.
3. Press restore and follow onscreen instruction.
It'll take a little while so please be patient.

Hope this helps.

Best bets is to restore your iphone as a new iphone, the software in the phone is causing an issue within it causing it to restart...Hope this helps..

Use the following steps to restore your device:
  1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update.
  2. Connect your device to your computer.
  3. Select your iPhone when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
  4. Select the Summary tab.
  5. Select the Restore option.
  6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up option (as seen in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.

  7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up your device, you should not have to worry about restoring your phone).

  8. Once the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up:

iPhone only: For the iPhone only, after a restore, the iPhone displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or you see "iPhone is activated." If iTunes does not have an Internet connection, you cannot complete this step.
