Printer instructions for replacing ink cartridges for Pixma MP 500

I need instructions on where and how to replace the ink cartridges for my Canon Pixma mp 500 all in one printer. Thanks DANI

    reffiled ink cartridges however error 5010 keeps comming up why?

Try to reset your printer it might fixed your problems:
To reset your device do the following steps.

While the printer is on, remove the power cord from the back of the printer, wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
If the printer is not already on, turn it on by pushing the power button.
Try printing again. I think it will help you.

I have replaced an ink jet cartridge but the light does not come on ; it doesnt recognise the cartridge although it is a genuine canon original.


unplog the printer.open the catridges & put it again.check printer properties.if it shows the catridge it's all ok.
else re install the printer.

Sorry this ain't a solution but it seems to be the only cash-free way to contact you. No problem not solved - though I have tried everything. Dismantled the printer; washed, dried and replaced the waste ink pads; washed the print head; blew compressed air through the print-head sponge; replaced the cartridge 3 times; printed hundreds of test prints. I can't think of anything else to do and so I think the only solution is to replace the printhead (probably not even available) or replace the printer. The latter is looking most likely.

Cannon Pixma 1600


Recheck that the ink is correctly inserted & protective tap has been removed. ( may sound lame but it is the most common problem). It would not be uncommon for the new cartridge right out of the box is also defective. Return & replace.

Since I changed ink in my pixma mp 600, paper gets stuck in both feeders. I can not get it to print.

Click on the Service & Support tab. Type in the search window: Paper does not feed through printer. Click search. Typed in Red you'll see, "Paper does not feed through printer". Click this link & follow the instructions.

Ink replacement fault


Did you use Lexmark brand cartridges? Sounds like the printer can't read the chip in the cartridge. Try cleaning the contact pads behind the cartridges and in the carriage with the eraser on a pencil.

there is a check printer utility however i do think it is your cartridge take it out and/or clean it,
