The humming can originate in two parts (both caused by drying capacitors):
1 - the audio final amplifier autooscillates - definitely not terminal, actually quite easy to repair; easy to identify - the humming dissapears if you put the volume at 0.
2 - the power source is malfunctioning - this is serious, left unfixed it can destroy the tv; but it can be fixed, all you need is a better service guy.
In desperation you can try to fix it yourself. Open the back case and look for deformed/bulging capacitors and replace them. Also look for darkened part on the motherboard, it's a sign that there is a stressed part so test it and replace it if necessary.
Luckily this is only the beginning of the problem, fixing it now will be a lot cheaper than after failure.

A capacitor is nothing more than a damp piece of fine paper in between two fine foils of aluminium. When the paper dries it insulates less so a part of the current is flowing thru it. This extra current makes the power source work harder hence the buzzing.  That extra current flowing thru the capacitor also makes the water decompose thru electrolysis, accelerating the drying. The gases, especially hydrogen, are a good isolator so when they are generated in large quantities they raise the insulating properties of the paper so the current flowing thru the capacitor goes down to a lower level putting less strain on the power source so the noise dissapears. But gases escape and the entire process begins again.

Find the failing capacitors and replace them now, while they are cheap, when they will fail they are going to take other parts with them and you'll end up with a hefty bill .

They are soldered on the board. But since you have asked that you clearly don't have the experience needed to work on them. Ask a friend with at least a basic experience in electronics to help you, you can damage more it you don't really know what you're doing.

It is not that serious problem. If the problem started only a while ago, your t.v can easily be used for some more YEARS. But this sound will persist. There is no need of repair and replacement now if you are okay with that sound. I don't think you will appreciate a repair as it may be expensive. I assure you that you can use the t.v at least a couple of years more, if the sound is not that severe.

Try unplugging the receiver from your electrical outlet for 10 seconds and plug back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and re-acquire the satellite signal. After this, you should get your picture back. I hope this helps.

My Vizio LCD TV screen fades to dark. Sound stays on.

I w having this same issue when watching a Blu-Ray disc. I found it to be dependent upon what picture mode the TV was set to. By this I mean certain picture modes would cause the TV to dim during dark scenes of a movie. Changing the picture mode helped a lot.

Sounds like you hit the PIP (picture in picture) button on the remote. Hit it a few more times and it should go away.
