Question about Washing Machines

Open Question

I have an IPSO commercial washing machine. It keeps showing an error code:A4. Still washes, but instead of taking 30 minutes, it now takes more than an hour. Sometimes 90 minutes. I can't locate a manual for this particular model to look up the error code. model # IP060PHQ1001U01

Terri, you may need to contact Maytag on this one. Here is service bulletin that was released in June of 2002... "Date: June, 2002 No: TDL0008A-S, MAH5500BWW, MAH5500BWQ Issue Software Improvements: A software improvement was introduced to the machine control board. The improvements focused on. Reducing the number of wet clothes loads, spinning and draining complaints. Modifications to the time estimation displayed toward the end of spin cycle. Display will no longer fluctuate erratically, time remaining. ?dO? is no longer displayed when the door is open. Warranty See specific product for warranty information. Action This board modification was phased into production without a series change. Inventory at the National Parts Center was purged and replaced with the new control board." Hope this helps.

My indesit washing machine WI121 is taking several hours to complete a wash cycle on quick wash which should take 30 minutes

Reading the error code

The fault on the appliance is signalled via:

1. the continuous rotation of the selector knob
2. the action, for the first 4', of the electrovalve and the drain pump
3. the door becomes unlocked
4. the led flashes:
the number of flashes indicates the fault code; the code should be read as follows:
· each fast flash (2/3 flashes of the led very close together) represents one code value
· the fault code is evaluated by counting the number of flashes occurring at 3/4" intervals from one another
· stop counting when the washing machine waits the equivalent of approximately 8/9" between flashes
· the procedure is repeated by the appliance cyclically

you sure it is not and upside down 'F' instead of an L? that would be a hall sensor(motor position sensor) error. easy fix. check out or for both parts and videos that show how to repair. very easy with common tools. about 20-30 minutes. basically take back cover off, remove motor cover, remove stator, replace part.

After 2 minutes does the machine throw up an error code. Starts beeping and shows a weird pattern of lights?
If so that error code can help us diagnose what your problem is.
If it does give you an error code take a photo and post it back on here so I can see what it is.
