Question about Linksys Wireless-N WRT150N Router

Linksys has stopped working - no connectivity. I directly connected the modem to computer and it works fine. Power light on Linksys is green but is blinking and does not go to steady green.

You can try to follow the steps from this link to fix the blinking power light of your router, because a blinking power light is a sign of something is bad on the router. But if after doing the steps and still a blinking power the router is already bad and needs replacement.

just as a guess try unplugging power to both modem and router, then plug only modem in first until connection light stops blinking and goes solid. then plug in router.

It has stopped connecting to the Internet. The cable modem and computer are fine, but the cable modem and the linksys no longer "talk" to each other. Other wireless connections in my vicinity work OK on...


Base from the description of your problem it seems that we need to reconfigure the router to work with your modem again and we need to do that manually using a computer connected wired to the router.

To do that follow these steps.

Connect the modem to the router and computer to router also, make sure all connections are correct.
Then power on the router , modem and computer and check all the lights on the router are fine and make sure power is solid green if those are fine access the router setup page.

From the computer that is wired to the router a\open internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 and hit enter then that should ask for a username and password, just leave the user name blank and password is admin hit enter you should be now on the router page.

From there under SETUP tab look for a sub tab MAC ADDRESS CLONE , then enable that and clcik on clone pc mac and ten save settings and once its save power off the router and modem for 1 minute then after that power on the modem and then the router and check if internet is already working.

Router stopped working.


As long as the power light stays solid, then the router is fine. You need to reconfigure the router for it to receive internet connection from the modem.

Hello,

Do this with your network setup. Power down your DSL/Cable modem first by unplugging the power. Power down the router next by unplugging the power. Power off your computer also. Now , power up the dsl/cable modem and let it resync with the ISP ...all lights green and showing activity. Next power up the Linksys router and then do a factor restore reset by pushing in the reset and holding it for a count of 5 (the front lights will go red then flash) let go of the reset as your linksys router is all set to default setttings from the factory. Now power up your computer and try the internet after it boots up. Should hook to the internet with no problems now. Now access your router menu by typing http://192.168.1.1 and hit enter. The router log in menu should now display. just click on the password tab and enter admin the default password and then change your password in the router to something hard to remember and WRITE IT DOWN! LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY


the setup will not really work because of the message that you are getting. LImited or no connectivity means that you computer recognized the connection but its not getting an ip address to the router. Have you tried turning off the router and leave it off for a minute or two and see if you resolve this issue? Is your power light solid green right now?

i have read the same problem on the supportrix forum and you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router and repeat the same steps.
note:
configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username (email address format) and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

*if the DSL light on your modem is blinking..
TRY: using different filters// check physical connection
IF: not resolved call ISP for a trouble ticket for their line department
*if all the lights constantly blinks
DO: purchase new modem, maybe deffective already or check if modem still under warranty so provider can replace it

NOTE: plug 4100 modem directly to the back of the computer tower without the linksys router and check if light status still the same...
HOW: cable connected from back of modem shud be plug in directly to port at the back of PC tower.. completly remove linksys and turn linksys off..

Router stopped working altogether


Please check your cable connections; are the lights blinking? try connecting your computer directly to the modem dsl port that is connected was to the router if connection can be restored.
