Question about Pioneer AVIC-D3 Car DVD Player

1 Answer

D3 doesnt turn on except when bypassed

My car had the battery unplugged for a while. when i reconnected it, it went through the usual security password and then started to work. when i turned the key off, then back on it doesnt turn on and i can;t figure out how to turn it on. If i hit the bypass button, it asks for the password, then turns on but only until i turn the key off. Then it doesnt work again. It gets power, just doesnt operate. Its as if i turned the unit off.

Check the yellow (12 volt constant line) wire and make sure it has power to it even when the ignition switch is not on

My system has been locked since my battery went dead! it says enter security code but i never put 1 in it.

Contact Panasonic directly and they can provide you with the bypass code for your unit. It usually is free. They have a toll free number you can call that I will list below. Best of luck. Let me know if this solves your problem.

Battery went dead on my car and i need the master unlock for my avic-d3

Have you tried calling Pioneer and giving them the serial number? They should have at least something on file for a master lock code. It wouldnt make sense if they did not since we all lose important documents.

My pioneer indash avic d3 wont play dvd's you

this until has a safety feature installed that will not let you view video while in motion. it has a light green wire on the back that is supposed to be connected to the cars ebrake wire so that in order to view video you would have to have your ebrake ingaged. it also allows you to be able to type in address for the navigation. if this wire is not connect or not connected properly, you will get a messages that says drive can not view video will driving..

double check the connection....or you can just bypass it completely. i have attach a link on how you bypass this feature which will allow you to watch video and type in nav address while drivin

Pioneer AVIC-D3

Check your EQ setting for each source, sometime on certain unit each source can have it own setting. May be try to reset it by disconnect the battery and reconnect. If you still have a remained warranty, contact Pioneer and send it in for service. Hope that would help.
