If set on COOL No, what causes warm air would be either lack of sufficient air across the indoor coil (plugged air filter or a dirty coil), insufficient air passing through the outdoor condenser coil (dirty fins), insufficient refrigerant in the system (leak) or a plugged metering device (TXV or orifice). You can check the coils and their condition yourself, the other components would need to be checked by a qualified technician.

SOURCE: Air conditioner blowing only warm air

possibly have a capacitor out on the compressor side of the a/c Since the unit works and its only blowing air the compressor isn't kicking in. The capacitor boosts the compressor to activate the compressor. I would have the capacitor to the compressor replaced first before going any further.

Good luck on your repair

Window air conditioner blows warm

There are a number of things that cause a window air conditioner to blow warm air. None of them good. A faulty thermostat. A small leak which requires repair and recharge of refrigerant. A bad compressor. A bad capacitor. The list goes on.

As an air conditioning mechanic, I earn a good wage. Add cost of a vehicle, auto insurance, gasoline, cost of inventory, the person that answers the phone at the office, liability insurance, unemployment insurance, workman's compensation insurance, payroll taxes, taxes on inventory, my accountant's fees, my attorney's fees the donations to the local little league teams, cost to purchase and maintain my large number of highly specialized tools and instruments .... My hourly rate, depending on what part of the country I'm in, is at least $75.00. Add $25 to $75 for the most basic of parts. Your repair is going to run at least $100.00.

Unless your window airconditioner is a very large, commercial unit, it will be much less expensive and quicker for you to go to Walmart, Kmart, Target or the Big Box store of your choice and get another one.

Just started making an odd noise. Normally compressor blows out warm air. Air being blown out now is very cool

Unless I'm missing something in what you said, air conditioners are supposed to blow out cool air, rather than warm air. Or does the air just feel cooler than what you had the thermostat or comfort control set on? If that's the case, turn the comfort control or thermostat Up a bit.

I hope this helps. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a intertherm furnace model mac1175 series, it's blowing lukewarm air, how do i get hotter air ?

There are two motors in an AC. One is the fan motor and is controlled by a switch. The other is the compressor motor. It's operated by the thermostat. If the thermostat doesn't work you'll only get warm air (cooled only buy the fan) because the compressor is not doing it's job of compressing and releasing the freon.

Usually when this happens it's mostly caused by the thermostat. It also can be caused of a bad compressor motor or a locked up compressor.

It blows cold air for 5 min. and the it blows cool air for 15 min. the room warms up . Why does it stops blowing cold air continuasly???? The thermostat was disconectet on purpose so it coul clow cold air...

See if you can reposition the thermister on the facing of the evaporator coils. That could be it or the thermister might be bad. They don't use copper/mercury sensing bulbs these days. They use these cheap thermisters.

AC unit outside blowing out cold air, vents

Sounds like compressor not running. may be a bad capacitor, could also be low on freon.

Fan setting only works

Air Conditioners have a fan speed relay built in the unit, faster for cold air and slower for warm heated air. It is very possible that your relay is defective
