Problem for Projection Televisions
Generic problem for all Projection Televisions
Hitachi 53uwx10b Convergence
You know how on some TV's you can go in the settings and pop up a grid on the screen and align the colors? How do you do that with this TV?
Thank you.

-   It seems I have convergence issue (after reading posts here). Is it possible that the television just needs this adjustment and not parts? The set has been working fine and then *poof* the left side started ghosting pink/green. I found a loose wire. It seemed to straighten up. Then it started ghosting again. I had the SDKs replaced about 5 years ago. Do they just go bad ever few years? Thanks-

You must have the original remote to do complete convergence adjustments. Remote method: Press MAGIC FOCUS button on front panel to start the magic focus. When magic focus is running, press MAGIC FOCUS again. STOP should appear onscreen. Immediately press RECALL or STATUS on the remote (must be pressed before STOP vanishes). The set is now in DCAM (Digital Convergence Adjustment Mode). Manual method: Remove the front grill and access panel or reach around from the back and press the little pushbutton located in the front left corner of the PC board, next to the Digital Convergence Module.
Once in DCAM, the remote buttons STATUS selects green, 0 selects red and ANT selects blue. 2,4,5 and 6 move the cursor and the thumbstick makes the corrections.Make all necessary corrections and then press PIP MODE. The words ROM WRITE? appear onscreen. Press PIP MODE again to store settings. When green dots appear, press MUTE to return to convergence pattern. Press PIP MODE (ROM WRITE? appears again) and then press PIP CH. This will Initialize the internal sensor data positions. When INIT finishes, press POWER on the TV and convergence is complete.

I have an RCA 40'' D40W135DYX1 rear projection TV that one day stopped turning on. After troubleshooting several days I figured out that you can turn it on with the power button, but not the remote. I had the buttons locked at that time, if you the power button then you could turn it on with the remote. Once on everything works fine. You can even turn the TV right back on with remote within a certain time. Any ideas?
