Before you do the above solution from Bala10Kri (that doesn't tell you what to replace them with) or probably doesn't even know that the scanner drivers from the printer is twain drivers (Microsoft scanner drivers). Try the below and I bet you will come right.
To resolve this error code:
Close Home Center Software.
Go to Start>Computer.
Show hidden files and folders:
Select Tools>Folder Options.
NOTE: If the Tools menu is not available on the menu bar, press the <Alt> key on the keyboard, and then a menu bar with the Tools menu will appear.
Select the View tab.
In the Advanced Settings, select Show hidden files or folders.
32-bit systems - C:>Users\(username)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Kodak\AiO\Center
64-bit systems - C:>Users\(username)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Kodak\AiO\Center
NOTE: The username in the path above is the username you logged in with.
Right-click AiOHomeCenter.exe.config and select delete to remove the file.
Hide hidden files and folders:
Select Tools>Folder Options.
Select the View tab.
In the Advanced Settings, select Do not show hidden files or folders.
Run Home Center Software to run as an administrator:
Right-click the Home Center icon, then select properties.
Select the Run this program as an administrator check box in the compatibility mode.
Open Home Center Software and print or scan a job.

Most of the time is trash on the network.
Also SC990 sometimes occurs if the signal timing during scanning and printing causes a delay in the process.
There is a firmware that fix this error. You need to download it (if you know how to do it of course).
If the carriage will come out of the right corner, you need to look inside and see if there's a paper scrap or anything blocking the purge assembly. The purge is the unit that cleans the printhead, and that error says it's not moving properly. If nothing is stuck in there, you will need to have the purge assembly replaced.
As per the information you have provided, I understand that you are receiving an error "No scan option refer to the documentation" on the printer, when you try to print from the front panel of the printer (I mean from the printer's side).
However, plz provide me the proper error message so that I can assist you in the best possible way. If you are unable to scan from the printer's side, then try to scan from the computer and check if it is working or not. It should work when you try to scan from the computer, if not there may be a communication issue between the two devices.

Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable
from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on.
Open the cover of the product and remove the print
