You should not need to change the tension for a stay stitch.

When you stitch a piece of cloth, the stitching appears to be loose, resulting in a very untidy stitch.please help immediately.i didnt get a booklet with my sewing machine

Firstly you can download a manual from the Singer website, link is
http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals, type in "W750" and click search.

Once youve got the manual downloaded, I'd suggest you print it out and get it bound in covers so it can stay with the machine.

Then trouble shoot the tension, this sounds to me like you've got insufficient or no tension on either top, bottom or both threads. You need to revise the threading up and make sure you always thread up the top with the pressure foot raised so the thread properly seats into the tension discs. Set top tension on the normal mark between 3 and 4 and make sure when you load the bobbin into the bobbin holder, that the thread gets clicked into the tension spring completely.

Now test sew again, and tighten up the top tension a fraction if it shows on the underside. You can't adjust the bobbin tension on these machines or at least the manual doesn't show any adjustment, just says to adjust the top thread tension.

As a rule of thumb, change your sewing machine's needle for each new sewing project too as this will help with stitching quality.

If you can't get it looking any better consider taking the machine back to the shop (if its fairly new) and getting it checked.

If you are planning to sew lots of things, you may want to consider buying a higher level quality machine than this one, it is an entry level machine and there is huge variation in stitching quality between the cheaper models and the higher end quality ones. Just depends on your sewing needs and desires I guess as to whether its worth investing more $$.

My singer 7444 makes beeping sounds when operated, the machine fails to start.

Ensure that your stitch width and your spacing are set to a green-light setting. Also, ensure that your stitch wheel will operate(It will lock in the case of a jam.), and check to see that the stitch you have selected is compatible with the kit load you have onboard, i.e. for buttonholing, ensure you have the automatic buttonhole foot attached and the buttonhole lever down. In all other stitches, ensure the buttonhole lever is in the full up position.

The 7444 Precision is a "Smart" machine, and will not allow you to attempt a stitch that simply will not work with the wrong stitch spacing and width settings applied. Move the sliders slowly until each one lights up green, or at least does not light up yellow/orange at all.

How can I use this machine as a MERROW machine ?

For best results, use Maxi-Lock cone thread.
Remove the left needle.
Slide the stitch forming finger towards you, away from where the stitch forms.
Set the stitch length to around 1.
Set the needle tension 4 or 5.
Set the upper looper tension at 4.
Set the lower looper tension at 7.
Adjust the stitch width, if needed.

The thresd gets knotted and it won't stitch

Rethread your machine
Make sure your cotton runs through the two tension plates
Check that your top tension is set on 5
Make sure your bobbin case is threaded correctly
Lastly, make sure there is no cotton stuck between your top tension's plates(take a long needle and remove any fluff)

MO -634 mechanical sewing machine problem

What does "doesnt have good sewing results" mean? Is the stitch loose? Does it skip stitches? is the tension balance off?

The serger "It doesnt sew right" rule of thumb: replace your needles, make sure they are inserted all the way into the clamp (one will be hight then the other) and orientated properly (eg. flat to the back), COMPLETELY unthread machine, re-thread!!!! re-thread!!!, check for proper threading (make sure thread is in tension discs if possible), change your thread.

Improper threading is the #1 problem causer. I cant stress it enough. Rethread Rethread Rethread!
