You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps:
Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

If the above mentioned steps are not working then you need an RCD to do so. Contact the Gateway support.

If it still does not work then install the latest audio driver.

Laptop does not turn on
Check the battery if it has a charge or try to recharge it, but if ever the charger is plugged and still your laptop is not turning on perhaps there is a problem with your laptop battery pack.

Trying to fix an error 10 for my DVD I erase some files and now there isno image only the mouse pointer is showing and the screensaver work. I need help on how to recuperate those files.
Try boot up in safe mode (hit F8 while booting up) and use the system restore to take it back to the day before you erase the files.

Sound quit on Gateway laptop. Device manager says speakers & codec are working properly, but when you try to test in setup it says device not found. Reinstalled, rolled back driver.

My Gateway MT6707's screen makes everything negative.
It sounds like the 'High Contrast' Accesabiliy option in windows has been truned on. This is a setting that a person who has visual imparement might use to be able to see the screen and text better.
To turn this off :
  • Click Start->Control Panel
  • Double Click the 'Accessibility Options 'icon
  • Click on the 'display' tab
  • Remove the check mark from 'Use High Contrast'
  • Click OK
Your screen will return to it's not color/size settings.

otherwise your screen may have gone but it's only two years old

Hello my mt6707 notebook
Your back light went out if you can see a faint display on the screen... Is there a post beep?
If not I suggest:
Unplug and remove battery
Take RAM out
Let it sit for 15-20 minutes
Try again.
If this doesn't work try different RAM
