Question about Samsung D353 Mini-DV Digital Video Camera

2 Answers

Camcorder Problems Our Samsung always beeps at the end of filming a shot. When we watch it on the computer is the only time we hear it. When we play it back on the camcorder itself it doesn't beep. Also, when we try to import it to Windows Movie Maker, it says "The file C:Documents and SettingsFamilyMy DocumentsCCWinMovieSMOV0006.AVI cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.". I try to make movies, but it beeps and doesn't import to Windows Movie Maker, or Picasa 2.

You have to install the klite kodec pack you can dl it on the web. It worked for me with windows movie maker. Try it out and see. My camera has a fault error. It wont capture anything from the dv. but the memory card works fine.

how did you transfer the video from the card to your PC?

did you connect the camcorder to your PC or did you use a memory card reader?

if you can play the audio then what you need is the right video codec for the unit
try searching for video codecs through search engines

make sure that the software that you are using to play the video plays the file format of your video,

try using roxio, then connect the camcorder to your computer via USB, make sure that the drivers are installed, play the video through your camcorder then use roxio to capture it real time instead of the usual "copy-paste"

Can not import film to PC.

I have a partial solution for those whose files come up as audio. connect your camera via USB. Windows Movie Player should recognize the camera when you select capture device. When you have your camera selected hit next. Put the file in My Video and title it. When you are ready too capture video Hit play on you camera while in the review screen. The Movie Maker will then capture your video as it plays in the camera.

Puttiny videos on my computer

Let me tell you that you can only store stills taken from your camera that too in still mode initiated on your GR-D370. To transfer video to your computer you require a firewire cable, a DV port on your PC.

DVD Camcorder appears to have erased disc mid record!

I know it won't play in a dvd player till it is finalized. Leave it in camera mode, hit menu, and scroll down till you see the option to finalize. If you finalize it, it should play in a dvd player. I am having a problem with my camera(same model) where it won't finalize the disc. Any help out there?

Can not playback past end of first file on my Panasonic PV-GS2

I'm not sure if this will work for you but, sometimes I try to play back some of my tapes and a blue or grey screen comes up instead, although this sounds odd, if I record something(for even one second) it will let me see my film. I know this can cause problems because you may end up taping over film but if it's the only way to see your film it's worth a try!
