Using registry cleaners, all or any registry cleaners is not a surefire way to speed up the pc performance. in fact, many pc registry cleaners slow performance down because they dont do what they are supposed to. what i want to know is how long youve had this pc running the same operating system. how old is the harddrive? and a big question, is the harddrive's RPMs (revolutions per second) 7200 or 5400 or slower? 7200 rpm harddrives die out quickly, or they bind completely together and the cylinder inside stops spinning. the harddrive, if its over a year old might be going out, that causes errors and slow pc performance. next question is how much harddrive space do you have free out of the total space? anything past 50% harddrive space begins slowing pc performance. if you want to clean your registry, Start>Run> type regedit> hit enter>select HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE>select SOFTWARE>select MICROSOFT>select WINDOWS> select CURRENT VERSION>select RUN> google every registry item in there. i delete all of it because there should be nothing in there. then click on the minus sign on HKEY LOCAL MACHINE to collapse it. goto HKEY CURRENT USER>select SOFTWARE>select MICROSOFT> select WINDOWS> select CURRENT VERSION> select RUN> google everything in here. the only items here should be your antivirus, anti malware, and your drivers-sound, video, etc. if you have a program that automatically connects you to a network device, leave that in the registry. NEVER USE REGISTRY CLEANERS AS THEY TEND TO FU%# UP THE REGISTRY RATHER THAN CLEAN IT. also it sounds like your speakers are going out. as for video movements, is the video integrated or is it and internal card? if its integrated, your video processor is sucking some of the processor time from your motherboard. with it being slow already, your going to see lag in items like movies and games. i would recommend that you back all your data up, on cd's, dvd's, an external device such as a USB hard disk or flash drives, and have your operating system reloaded.

you need to understand the problem which causes it to become slow. Once you restart, see if the hard disk light is continuously showing some activity. It is possible that you don't have enough RAM and in that case PC becomes slow as all the time hard disk keeps spinning. Open Task Manager and check which process is consuming high CPU/Memory. There is Resource Monitor in performance tab which show the processes consuming high Disk/memory/CPU. CHeck what that process is and uninstall that application or switch off that process. Keep searching based on what you find doing this.

I have compaq presario V3070TU with 512mb ddr2 RAM. i tried to upgrade to 2 gb RAM into one bottom slot (not 2 numbers of 1GB), but 2gb RAM is not working(display is not UP). only 1gb RAM is working....

I could not figure out the relationship of the hard disk with the memory.
try change the memory dimms put 512 in bottom and 1gb in the other possition and see what amount of ram you get

I have an Acer 3002LCi laptop. I upgraded the RAM to the maximum 2GB. I also installed a WD Scorpio Blue PATA 250GB HDD. I installed Windows 7 from disk and computer shows drives C and D but drive C...

Install a partition manager program like
http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm
open it and you will see the entire hard disk. In there either create another partition in the unallocated space or add it to the D partition.

Hi i have compaq presario c700 its too slow discr

If you have changed OS, your problem probably is not due to malware or bloat.
Upgraded to 2gb ram, new hard drive. And still you think it is too slow.
I think either you are too fussy, and expect too much OR your laptop has major problems at a chipset level.
Have you tried running some benchmark software to check if it really is running slow???

I would Do a fresh install of windows, SELL it and change to a different model.
Try checking a couple of reviews on sites like Custom PC, for a good fast laptop.

Hp 530 laptop is very slow and freezes

Well, The problem can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload startup programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do these manually, try the hp speed up tool http://www.speeduphp.com/ to give a free & full scan of your slow HP PC to find & fix all possible issues.

Meanwhile, upgrading hardware configuration (add RAM, change a new video card, larger-volume HDD etc) can be a fast yet effective way to improve your pc performance. But that won't be the most economical way, as you know you can't always afford to do that.

3 minite and above take for laptop booting © problem

Here are some things you can do that will boost your performance back to normal.
First, go into Start>All programs>system tools and run Disk Cleanup. This will get rid of all of the junk like *.tmp files that has built up. Second, in the same place after you run DiskCleanup run Defrag. This will take care of all the gaps on your hard drive so data can be found more easily. Finally you need some more RAM. 1GB these days with all the intensive programs is minimal especially if you have a 250GB HDD. Means if you load that puppy up your access time will be very slow with only 1GB. All programs load into RAM when they run, so with only 1GB your system has to constantly keep going back and forth to your hard drive to get code and that makes it very slow. Hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa. If you have any problems let me know.

with 2gb of ram. yes you can run Vista but the question is, do you really want VISTA? it might run sure, but it might be too slow, if i were you, i will upgrade the ram and still use XP and you would definitely see a performance boost with that upgrade
