I have a TEAC EU68ST where the usual AV Options (AV1, AV2, AV3) are no longer available, instead being replaced by an S-VHS option. I assume this problem was caused by pressing the wrong combo of buttons on the remote, but have been unable to change it back.

av 1 is the source input for the tv
there should be av 2, 3 4 etc and each one isa for a different input item
for example av1 is for the tv -aerial , av2 may be dvd input , av3 may be x box, av4 home theater
how to get rid of it . click on exit or ok
either find input button, or channel av1 or av2 or use channel add/delete in the menu and go back from channel 2 and once it's there, add it. Or you can turn the device on, use the autoprogram feature and the tv will add all available channels.
Are you reffering to your DVD player to be conected to with your TV screen?
For DVD player connection the 3 colored RCA jack socket are:
YELLOW = video out RED and WHITE = Audio out (left and right channels)
to hook up to your screen, at the back of the screen or side of it you'll see RCA socket indicating "AV1" "AV2" AV3" this are all Audio/video inputs where you can hook up all you A/V device or game consoles. These inputs also have the same 3 colored socket (yello = video red/white = audio) connect your DVD player to any of this input following the same color code. After connecting the cable, select the input where you hook up your dvd player. Do this by pressing "A/V" buttons in remote commander of your TV. continously press this button until it reaches the exact location where you plug your player ex. AV1, AV2,AV3
note: in some cases the remote commander doesn't indicate this A/V button but a picture of a box having a arrow pointing inside the box.
I dont know if you tv has this sertting but click menu usally 4 times and it will bring u to a page wich might say channel or something else and u can chane the channel by using the volume buttoms this worked for me and i can put it onto av1 av2 av3 and av4
If you are connecting via scart lead use scart 1 on the rear of tv set & switch off any other devices connected to tv set.
If you are connecting via phono sockets red, white, yellow,
You will need to select the input on the remote see if remote has AV button you will need to depress this buyyon several times as it will go AV1, AV2, AV3, etc.
