Hello calimexdude1, hi, it looks like your hard drive is done for, but hold on, try first to format it, low level will do. download utilities from your hard disk maker's website. and re-setup OS.

The problem seems to be in your cds. In this case, especially if the product is still in warranty, you can ask from Sony website if they will send you a new set of cds.

Operating system not found.

Now, this is a real embarassing fact of Sony computers. The error can occur even in out of box peice. Reset BIOS to default values, check if the computer is booting to Windows in safe mode and restore if yes. You can acess the safe mode by pressing the F8 key. If the issue persists, perform a system recovery using the recovery partition. You can acess the recovery partition by pressing the F10 key at startup. Selcet the Restore C drive option top recovery computer to its factory settings. If you want to backup and important data from the hard disk, use the rescue data feature option from the VAIO Care recovery partition. I could provide you with a more precise and direct article link if provided with the exact operating system and model # information.

Spilled water on keyboard of Sony VIAO VGN-FW250j and crashed HDD. Get system not found at startup. Replace HDD and get error:333 when loading recovery media kit. All hardware checks OK by Bestbuy geeks...

unfortunately water has a way of finding it's way into the circuit board, when it does it causes immeasurable damage, as parts of the circuit, and components that were not meant to get voltage are exposed to it, this generally ruins the machine's motherboard, with little chance of recovery. The HD may be OK as may be the DVD however anything electronic will generally be ruined, sorry. A recovery DVD is only good for SOFTWARE, problems... you have a hardware issue.

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-N130G. It crashed and I am trying to get it to reboot from the recovery disc but after the first disc starts the Complete C drive thing it stops and says ERROR 400 and can't...

Make sure that the operating System on the recovery CDs is the same as the one on your computer.
If you are trying to recover from a CD with Vista and your computer operating system is Win-XP that will not work.

Other Thing may be you had a hidden partition and some how you over written it or it is damaged.
check the hard disk partition stat.

Try rebooting and hitting the F8 repeatedly as soon as the boot sequence starts. When it comes up to an options screen select repair. From there you can let windows try to repair or select to install to the factory settings.

Vaio error message

This generally indicates a hard drive failure, but occasionally it's just an operating system glitch. Start by doing a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the repair doesn't take, then reformat the hard drive and install a fresh operating system. If you have any problems during or after the format or install, then the hard drive has failed and will need replaced.

Computer problem, help.

This generally indicates a hard drive crash/failure, in which the hard drive will need to be replaced. Rare, but occasionally you will get this error from an operating system glitch. Before you run out and buy a new hard drive, try reloading the operating system. If you have any problems during or after the install, then the hard drive is shot.

System recovery cds

I think the peoblem is that you need to set the cdrom as first boot device, go into bios (F2 or Del on boot up) and enter advanced cmos settings and you will find that the HDD (Hard disk) is set as first boot device, change this with up/down keys or + - keys to cdrom as first boot device. save settings and exit for a restart with cd in drive.
