I have a sanyo tv. Slightly older. Not hi-def or New

I have a sanyo tv. Slightly older. Not hidef or flat screen. However, I have direct tv and the tv is usually opperated through the directv remote. My 3 y/o accidently pressed the "reset" button on the "Sanyo" remote and now it wont stop searching for channels that it is NOT going to recognize due to the direct tv. I dont know what else to do. I have tured it off. I have let it run its course. I just dont know what the heck to do now. It just wont stop saying NO SIGNALS FROM ANTENNA. CHECK CONNECTIONS THEN PRESS THE MENU KEY. If I do that it starts all over again. It seriously was working less than 2 min ago. Please help. I am losing my mind. Thanks

Hi:
This may be due to the possiblity that the you are on the wrong input source, If you watch HD Channels then the input source would either be componet or HDMI input. Try changing the input source of the television with the TV's remote until you see the Channels again. IF you are not watching HDTV then the television is on the wrong reception channel for the Direct TV's box. Try channel 4 or 3 or even 73.

Maybe you can try looking in the MENU, look for other inputs like Ext1 or Ext2, AV channel etc. It may be that your Direct TV goes through one of those.
Hope this helps ;)

Scratch on sanyo flat screen tv

The overlay or outer screen on any LCD or Plasma is bonded to and cannot be removed/replaced short of replacing the entire Panel or display unit which needless to say costs more than the set did when new.

If its an older projection set the outer clear screen may be available depending on brand and model number.

Is the harmon kardon avr 225 receiver hi def? we had a "non" hi def tv hooked to our receiver and we are replacing the tv with a hi def LED. do we need a new receiver?

It does not have any of the usual HDMI or component video jacks on the back. The highest 'def' video it supports is S-Video (standard def).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video

It is NOT necessary to route video through an audio device. Your TV is the ultimate and most logical first recipient of any high def video content.

Whatever video you elect to pass through this thing is not modified in a good way if at all. You COULD just run the HiDef video straight to the TV and not have to worry about what could be happening in the excessive and unnecessary cabling that takes it for a trip through the receiver.

The receiver can still be managed by running its composite (standard def) video from the Monitor Out to a composite input of your new TV.

Likewise, no digital audio would improve from passing it through any device that just acts as a stepping stone to the receiver and ultimately your ears. That iswhy all decent A/V gear has provisions to run the signals separately to their optimum electronic end-user.

Picture problems

Hi,

The pixelation is probably caused by MPEG2 compression on the DVD and Virgin media video streams, the blur is probably caused becasue you are displaying a standard definition signal on a high definition TV.

However if a high-def source still has these problems then you may have a faulty TV, your best bet is too hook up a high-def source such as a HD/Blu-ray player or PS3/360 games console.

Should a high-def source look ok, then you may have some look changing the display settings on the TV to try and improve picture sharpness and color balance.

Thanks.
