The bulb cutting out is usually down to it overheating. I thought it was a loose connection at first so I gave it a slight clout....... After Id bought a new bulb due to my general stupidity I realised that all I needed to do was clean the filter out on the side. Its been fine since. Ive had it apart a few times to clean the dust out etc but now Ive got the discouloration problem. Think another screwdriver job is in order...

I have a Prowler HD66 projector also. Same problem. The fan went bad on mine and I'm currently in the process of contacting the company to get either the fan or the projector replaced. This happened about 30 minutes ago (I've only had the projector for two days) so my guess is that you might be having the same problem. Check to see if all of your projector's fans are running. If not, then do what I'm doing and contact the company. The warranty for these projectors lasts for a year and covers factory defects. The trick is going to be contacting them. I've tried today and so far, no answer.

Could simply be debris or dust stuck on the outside of the inner part of the lens or between the lamp and the color wheel. Take the lamp out and look at the color wheel. Use compressed air to remove debris. You can also get rid of the debris between the color wheel and lens by blowing compressed air in the side vents of the unit. The HD66 and HD65 are prone to this happening if you have a ceiling fan close to the projector. Dust blobs from the fan can fly off and get sucked into the projector. If the picture is still working and, for the most part, the picture looks good, then the color wheel is probably fine. You should clean the color wheel about every 6 months anyways as a film will gradually build on it, causing the brightness and colors to seem dimmer. Clean with a q-tip and denatured alcohol. Be careful not to touch the color wheel with your fingers.

Hi i want to connect a tv to my optoma hd 66 projector

hi,
You can't be able to connect a tv to your projector, because it doesn't have a monitor out.
There is only one way. If the source is a DVD player then connect the its HDMI output to the projector and the component video out to the tv. You can't be able to get video out from the composite video output of your DVD player, when you are using HDMI. When plug the HDMI it will switch off the composite video out. The component video out remain ON whether you connect HDMI or not.
ok

Optoma projector HD806

its not the color wheel. Its the sensor that counts the black tape on the color wheel. The sensor has dust on it. It can't count how many times the wheel is going around because the dust is blocking it. the sensor is located by the wheel. if you have any questions you can callme 610-842-7442 ask for dan.

Hair inside optoma hd70 lense

I had an issue with "dust blobs" on my HD70 and was unable to locate instructions or a tutorial on how to remove them. I figured maybe this could help you if the hair is located within the same location as the dust. Please check out my blog at http://tantht.blogspot.com/ for instructions on how to remove dust blobs from a HD70 as this process worked perfect for me and I no longer have these annoying spots when watching movies!!
