There is a flat ribbon cable that goes from a connecttor on the bottom edge of the screen on the back of the TV(with back cover removed) To a board on the TV. Milk probably got in the connector. The flat cable can be removed from the bottom connector and cleaned with a damp cloth. Put a tissue or paper towel in the connector to dry out the contacts. Reassemble everything and check the picture. If it's ok then close up the case on the tv. If it doesn't change then components on the board the flat cable connects to are bad and the board has to be replaced.
T'Con board fault. Contact any service technician. Before replacing it, the main power supply regulator board to your TV too need a checkup.

Be sure all the external input signal cables are firm [without any loose]; too.
The line is probably in correspondence of the low Y buffer board, located inside the TV and connected to plasma display. In that case the board must be replaced to fix the problem. One of the symptoms of a defective low buffer board is a black line that starts from the bottom of the TV.
Hi, It is hardware issue related to LCD Panel (screen). Regarding fixing it, it depends if you are handy with electronics stuff repair and can replace circuit boards in tv etc then please check T-Con (lcd controller board) on top center position at rear of lcd panel, this board would be covered with metal shield. Need to take off back cover of tv to get access to T-Con board. If T-Con board does not solve lines problem of screen then LCD Panel is bad and will be replaced. If you fee uncomfortable doing so then repairman option is better choice. Hope this info will help you. Thanks.
My Hitachi TV Flat screen 42 EDT 4 1A has a one inch black line from the top to the bottom of the
screen on the left side. What or how do I fix it. I did blow it out with a air compressor as suggested by a local repairman.
Depending on the location of the lines, like if they are in a group close to each other, or all over the screen they could be a couple of things.. If they are grouped in a certain quadrent of the screen, one of your buffer boards is bad, they run along the top and bottom of the screen and are cheap and easy to replace. If the lines are all over the screen, mostlikly the main control board is bad and will have to be replaced.. If that dosent fix the problem then your panal is shot.. Good luck.. Cheap parts on ebay.
If these are thick black lines, this is most likely line frequency
noise entering the set. you may have a leakage from the DC ground on the secondary side of the powersupply to the AC side, or a bad filter capacitor(s). Most of the time it is the filter caps that give these types of problems.
If you are connected to cable TV service, or an outside antenna you can also have this problem from an AC ground loop return. Also if there is a device such as a VCR connected to the TV and it has problems, it can cause this as well...
