Hi,
Goo Gone...

http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=81908&aid=336064&aparam=goo%20gone&scinit1=goo%20gone

I have used this to clean sparay foam off of floors and many other things...you may have to soak a paper towel with it and then lay it on and let it soften the stuff up...but give it time an it will work on anything...

I just melted my husbands shirt to my iron!!!!!!!!!! how do i clean this mess off of my iron???

Hi hahn rhonda...
Put your iron in the freezer and then use a scraper to scrap off the shirt when it is frozen.
If that does not work, the reheat your iron to the highest setting, after your iron is hot you can use an old cotton towel to iron backwards on to remove the shirt debris

I use distilled water in my Roweta. When ironing a white shirt this morning, brown water came out and stained the shirt. What could have caused this and what can I do in the future to avoid this?

Hi,

Brown water and white scale are often the result of the water you use in the iron...

If you have scale, white vinegar will clean that...

For brown water, empty the iron, rinse out the insides with bottled water,

and then use the bottled water instead...

Brown coming through holes and there is a funny odor.

Tell us what water you have been adding to the iron over the years?
Often times our household drinking water is 'hard' or has iron in trace amounts in it- While it may not be toxic to our bodies-- when you boil it off in the steaming process, the minerals remain behind, and make a brown or dirty residue in the chamber. That residue will often 'bleed' out into the passages of the steam holes.
Have you ever used Vinegar to try to clean out the chamber?
Tho this might helb get rid of the residue-- it does tend to move the debris into the steam passageway-
So-- unless you have some way of spending considerable time and effort cleaning it out-- It may ruin more white shirts in the process than it is worth.
Note: Using distilled water will extend the life of a steaming iron-- but eventually, even the best treated Steam iron will need to be replaced!

Soleplate is dirty

Rowent sells a hot iron cleaning kit. It comes with a tube of cleaner, a piece of white terry cloth and a piece of cotton flannel. You spred some of the cleaner on the terry and iron it. Melted fabric and other grim clean right off the iron. Then you polish it up on the flannel. Good luck!

I have a Rowenta Professional iron that is spitting sometning onto dress shirts and leaving permanent marks. There does not seem to be anyone in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada that can address this problem. ...

The iron probably needs to be cleaned. You can use half water and half white vinagar to clean. Hope this helps. Those white pieces are mineral deposit buildup.
