I bought Philips Gogear VIBE mp4 player , but unable to run almost all formats of video I have, can you suggest video converter to be used for these formats to be converted to suitable format to play on...

Your device can play video file if its format is suitable. If you install the Philips songbird software you can convert your files with it and the player will play them after files transferred.

The software is download-able via this link:

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?tmplt=ePlatform%20-%20Philips&scy=US&slg=AEN&sct=FLASH_AUDIO_PLAYER_SU&cat=MP3_MEDIA_PLAYERS_CA&session=20110221100645_93.189.114.198&grp=SOUND_AND_VISION_GR&ctn=SA2VBE04K/17&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software

This solution can be usable if your player's type is SA2VBE.... If you have SA1... type you should use Philips Device Manager you can download too from this website.
Windows Media Player 11 and Quick Time software should be installed on your PC.
Good luck and thanks.

Is there any site that I can use to convert videos on my Phillip Philips SA1VBEO4K/17 because it won't play videos on it

Hello,
your player supports the video files which are .wmv (Windows Media Video) compression format, 30fps,512 kbps, 320x240 pixels.
If your video files aren't this type, you can convert its with the software you got together with your player.

How to download videos in philips

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. The video files will need to be converted to a file format that can play on your MP3 player.

You have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert/transfer videos. If the converter is not recognizing a specific video type - FLV, for instance - download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder and convert the videos to AVI format first. Then the Philips Media Converter will recognize them.

The Philips Media Converter is not capable of converting an entire DVD - you will have to acquire video editing software, and then break up the DVD files into 15-minute chunks, and then convert each chunk.

If you are getting a codec error, do a google search for free video codecs - they are out there. Windows Codec Pack and downloading the latest version of quicktime will give you most of these needed codecs.

This player is not capable of playing copyright-protected videos - so don't even bother with them.

Additional information is available both from Philips website and from Arcsoft's website.

How to convert my Philips DVP5990 to play PAL?

Press SETUP
Use the arrows to highlight Video Setup Page
Select TV Type - change it to PAL

There isn't a way to view PAL and NTSC at the same time with this player, but you can always go to the video setup page and switch between the two. Restoring the player back to its factory defaults will automatically switch it back to NTSC.

Finding Recording/Playing Channel on TV

Make sure there is a yellow video cable (or one of the other types of video cable) running from the Philips to your Panasonic. Make note of how the TV labels that source - Video 1, Video 2, Component 1, etc. Use the TV/Video button on your Panasonic to change the TV to the appropriate input channel - Video 1 or 2 if you used a yellow video cable, Component 1 or 2 if you used a red/green/blue cable, etc. Now, make sure that the Philips is in Disc mode by pressing the Disc button on the Philips remote. You should now have picture.
