Question about V1 Radar Detector
As soon as my valentine one radar detector is turned on, the radar alarms go off...all lights are flashing on the unit, won't stop going off until I turn it off.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It has to go back in for service. Possibly the tech either forgot or didn't properly reflow the solder contacts on the LO board which makes contact between the LO board and the horn's ridge. It isn't something which you should even think about attempting to repair yourself. Send it back in and they will get it right this time.

Old thread but This is probably a fried DC/DC converter inside the detector. Fuses are good for shorts but connecting to double the operating voltage will kill your electronics every time. Valentine 1 is the best. I beat laser with mine. Mike Valentine stands behind his product but you broke it so they probably will charge you for repair. If you have 24V system for stereo then any plugs or terminals need to be obviously marked. Try using a color that you can't mistake like yellow. .Or use a 12v power amp and your neighbors will be much happier.
