Older motherboards have USB 1.1 ports;
newer motherboards have USB 2.0 ports,
which are over 10 times as fast.
It is Windows (not your motherboard) that should do the "Plug-and-Play" thing for devices connected to your USB port(s).
Note that some devices are USB 2.0, and will *NOT* work when plugged-in to a USB 1.1 port.
Either get a newer motherboard, or get a PCI add-on card that adds USB 2.0 ports.

You can download the drivers from ASUS WEB site. Selectyour model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select the Windows XPor Vista version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system.Please click on this link to their WEB support site : -http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
