A link to a Husqvarna "IPL, 137/ 137 e, (revised 2008-04) 2006-12, Chain Saw" follows (may not be your saw):
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/usa/2006/I06000/I0601906.pdf
Page 1 displays the chain brake in good detail. The hand guard must be rotated aft to latch the brake band in the expanded position or it will not be possible to reinstall the cover. It requires a fair amount of force to latch and a vise (use wooden blocks on cover flats to protect the finish) or a large C-clamp to a work surface will probably be required.

HusqvarnaUSA.com (if the above is not your saw, IPL displays parts)
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000; please contact Husqvarna for single digit clarification

How to remove the chain from a husqvarna 235e chainsaw?

Like this or pretty close.

  1. Cock brake while expanding chain brake binder by pulling brake handle towards left-hand (wrap-around) handle grip, hard, until it locks in place.

  2. Loosen 2 brake-asssembly-and- bar retaining nuts but do not remove yet.

  3. Unscrew (turn CCW) bar adjustment screw on front face of unit in order to shorten bar and slacken saw chain.

  4. Slip chain off bar over bar tip and towards inward side of bar.

  5. Remove two nuts loosened in step 2 and pull brake assembly and bar straight out and off bar mounting studs.

  6. While rotating clutch/brake-drum, maneuver saw chain off sprocket and around drum perimeter to remove from saw.

  7. Repeat/reverse steps 6 thru 1 in that order to reassemble.

How do I remove the chain on a Husqvarna 455 Rancher chain saw

Start by making sure the chain brake is off, pull the hand guard fully back to the top handle, remove the bar nuts ( 13mm ) if it has tooless chain adjustment flip the nut wing out and undo the big grey nut, screw the chain adjuster fully back, if tooless wind the knurled adjuster fully back, now remove the side cover/brake assembly, loop the chain off the nose of the bar, and then over the sprocket and remove.

Hi marcus,

The bar and chain oil goes into the oil tank on the side. The oil for the engine is mixed with the gas before filling the gas tank.

Hope that helps.

How do you start a husqvarna 137 e series chain saw

Hello Sally;
A link to an OM for a Husqvarna 2005 137 (no e listed, the procedure is the same) can be found here:
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/HOUS/HOUS2005/HOUS2005_O0501001.pdf
The start procedure begins on page 9.
The part that says once it attempts to start open the choke is often overlooked and they flood.
This is the only 137 listed, normally there are many to choose from. If you need additional help Husqvarna can be contacted here:
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/customer-support/)

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.
