Door on my miele built in dishwasher is broken

First thing you need to do is SEARCH for "spares"
for your Miele G685sc

We don't seem to have "parts" for your G685sc here
in the USA...

but a casual look over BOSCH hinge and spring costs
show the hinge at $20 USD

AND

SPRING at $10 to $19 US Dollars...
Lower door gasket $20 to $30 USD

AT those prices I would attempt to avoid a "new"
dishwasher... When you are done trying to get a HEATER,
silence and stainless interior...
You are looking at BIG MONEY.

Check the FIT of the door... and health of the gasket(s)....

I'm just saying... I would
(it is the ULTIMATE in recycling).

Springs on detergent compartment have come off...how can they be put back on again?

Hi,

It's fairly easy but you need to remove the front panel of the door first. To do this you will need a T20 T-Star screwdriver or screwdriver bit then follow these instructions:

1. Open the door and fold it down flat - there are 10 screws (T20) around the edges of the door
2. Undo and remove the 3 screws on each side - leave the 4 screws at the top!
3. Close the door
4. Grab the door at the bottom on both sides and pull gently towards you about 2-3 inches.

At this point you may find that 2 plastic clips fall out. Don't panic - it's not broken. They slide back on when the panel is removed.

5. When the bottom of the door is pulled away, pull it downwards and it will slide out from behind the control panel. The outer panel of the door should now be completely free.

You will now be able to see the back of the detergent compartment where the springs are located. Re-attach the springs, then re-fit the door following the instructions above in reverse order. If one or both of the clear plastic door clips have come off, reattach them to the brackets at the bottom of the door before re-fitting the panel. It's much easier this way!

T-Star bits are freely available - I've attached a picture of one.

If you get into any difficulty removing or refitting the door, please post back and I will assist you further.

one of the nylon rope which connects the door hinge to the door spring is broken.usually with time the rope wears out and break.it is preety easy fix. u have to pull the unit about half way out and look for ropes on lhs and rhs bottom of the unit.buy the rope kit(it comes with 2 ropes and plastic roller unit.). just see the one which is not broken and accordingly install the broken one.usually u dont have to install the new rolers unless they are broken.

Outside door handle does not work

Hi,

There are screws hidden under little plastic buttons, the buttons are the same color as panel. you can open them using a small screw driver or pick .Most of the time there's one by the handle where you grab the door. take a close look thay are hard to find.Once that is complete you can use a pry tool around the bottom half of panel ,pry panel from door, the lower half is held in with plastic fasteners ,that pull out when pry-ed.You can buy new ones if they break. Now you can lift the panel in an upward motion to lift over the lock. be careful not to pull away to far from door with panel because of wire harness to the controls are still connected ,and maybe speaker wire. You can disconnect these wire harness, just be careful not to break any clips here.

Thanks.

Bosch Dishwasher Water Not Heating

Depends on if it is the controller board (easy, just behind the door and requires a torx 20 screw driver) or if it is the heating element. The latter is easy, but time consuming, as it requires you to pull the dishwasher out, detach the bottom, tilt it on it's back, and remove pump, etc to get to it. Not difficult, just a bit time consuming.

I'm probably sounding like a broken record, but id f its got buttons on the front and not a knob, its probably the control board. Unplug the unit or flip the breaker.Take off the outer door and the control panel by removing all those torx screws down each side, then pop that control board with all the wires out of the housing. once you have that in your hand, open the control assembly itself (should open like a book, into 2 halfs) once you spot the half without the buttons and lights, take that half out of the plastic housing and look on the back. If there is a burnt solder joint there (it will be obvious if it is) you will need to have that joint repaired, or get a new control board..bout $150 if memory serves. that joint that burns powers the heater, so its likely thats your problem. It can also cause some other isuuse as well, such as the time display freaking out (if you have one) Good Luck!
