When I press the pedal the string get tangled and I also have problems with the bobbin thread not being picked up! Please help! Thanks margaret

thread the machine correctly( follow the operators manual)
wind the bobbin properly and when placing the bobbin in the bobbin carrier pull the thread down the small slot and under the spring plate
thread for the needle always comes in from the left (The side of the groove in the needle ) and out the cut away side
pull a long piece of thread for the needle out and hold it while you turn the machine over
after 1 or 2 revolutions the needle thread will bring up the bobbin thread and you then pull both threads out a bit
if you don't have a user/operators manual there are 2 options
one is to go google and type in --user manual for bernina bernette model 65 sewing machine and down load the pdf version
the other option is to visit manchester shops ( cloth and fabric shops ) and talk with the sales people as may of these places have a sewing circle of people who will be only to willing to help you.

How do you install the bobbin for the Singer XL 420 sewing machine?

It is explained and pictured on pages 14 and 15 of your user's manual. If you can't find it, you can download another free from the Singer Sewing Machine site.

There is a drawing on your machine near the bobbin indicating the correct direction the bobbin must be inserted, and it is essential that you put it in that way.

You must also insure that you have the thread in the correct thread path; the bobbin case exerts tension on the thread, but it can't do that unless the case is threaded properly. It is not hard to do, and those pages have illustrations as well.

Your machine does quite a lot, and because of that, there is a learning curve. You will not be able to just turn it on and press the button get good results with it. Use your manual as your BIBLE, and join a user's group. There are several Futura user's groups on FB--I strongly recommend that you join at least one or two.

How do i retrieve the bobbin thread to the head thread

The first thing you need to do is check with your user's manual on to make sure that your needle is inserted correctly--flat side to the back, and it is all the way UP in the holder. I find a small needle nose pliers helpful to hold the needle for this. If you don't have it, you can download it free at the Singer Sewing machine website--I just did before I answered this.

Next, make sure you have correctly threaded your machine, and when you did so, the presser foot was UP (ALWAYS thread with the presser foot UP--on ANY machine anywhere!).

The next part is on page 20 of your user's manual, and there are drawings. Then, insert your bobbin, with the lever on the case DOWN (it's the only time you can insert and remove a bobbin; with the tab on the case open, the bobbin is locked into place. Make sure the bobbin is inserted the correct way. In your case, when you hold the bobbin up vertically the thread should be unwinding from the left, or clockwise. After you have inserted the bobbin, take a look at the right side of the bobbin case towards the top; you will see a slot the thread needs to go into. Once it's in the slot, hold your finger on the bobbin so it that can't unwind, and pull the thread so that it is in the slot at the top of the shot you put it in. This part exerts tension on the bobbin thread, and it's VERY important that you get it in there. . Then open the tab or lever and put it into the bobbin basket (holds the bobbin case), with the projecting part on the top. A length of bobbin thread should be projecting outside the case at this point--you will be drawing it up to the needle plate.

How, hold the top thread end pull the hand wheel TOWARDS you (ALWAYS towards you--on any machine) at least one revolution and possibly two revolutions, then pull on the top thread and the bobbin thread will come up. When starting to sew on fabric, hold your hand on the top thread for the first two or three stitches.

How to replace bobbin assembly correctly on my singer merritt 4530 ? the threads been getting caught all around the bobbin assembly.

Yes, it should, and you might want to download your user's manual free at the Singer website, because replacing the bobbin case is pictured there.on page 41, along with instructions.

However, I can tell you that the feed dog plate with the two screws in is DESIGNED to be removed, and must be removed to get the bobbin case back in. It's important that you follow the instructions; the case must be inserted correctly so that it does NOT move, and make sure that it sits evenly in the bobbin basket (the thing that holds the bobbin case. While you are at it, you might want to also clean the basket, using q-tips with a drop of ONLY sewing machine oil on the cotton, making sure you also get under the lip before you put the bobbin case back in.

Review your user's manual--if you don't have it, you can download it free at the Singer website.

Make sure that you are inserting the bobbin and bobbin case (if you had taken it out) correctly. Also make sure your needle was inserted correctly, with the flat part away from you, and it is ALL the way up and being firmly held by the needle clamp screw.

If you have done those steps and you still cannot catch the thread, it means that your timing is off and will need to be adjusted by a technician.

How to snap back the bobbin case for a inspirational singer 4206

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you want to do with your bobbin case. If you want to put it back or take it out, you must unscrew the two screws that hold the needle plate, remove it, and slip the bobbin case in. Make sure that you put the bobbin case in correctly. It is on page 64 of your User's Manual; if you cannot find your manual, you can download it for free from here. http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/499_4206_4212.pdf

Needle does not reach bobbin to to pull bobbin thread on surface

Sewing machine needles are specific to each model. If the needles are not for your model they could be too short or too thick so that they don't sit in the shank correctly. Check your user manual or Mr Google could help.
