Snowblower wheels will not move freely when drive is disengaged & and wheels will not turn when drive control engaged.

Check the drive shaft bushings if they are worn the gears are probably binding and this creates the problem you are having.

I don't think this will work. Your car is all wheel drive and power is distributed to all 4 wheels, with most of the power going to the front. If you remove the front axles the entire system is broken and your car won't move.

Just to verify, have you removed the hubs and verified they move freely in either direction? and that the vaccuum diaprhagm inside the hub is working? By stating the vaccuum system, you do have AUTO hubs correct? I have fixed these problems many a times and found it is usually the auto hub assembly itself is not properly operating.

Craftsman 6.0 lawnmower frontwheel drive won't engage .

Make sure the belt has not slipped off of the pulley on the engine output shaft just above the cutting blade. It is common with those type of drives for debris to make the belt hop off.

When 4 wheel drive is engaged there is a clicking sound in left front end.

if the clicking sound is there even if your not in a turn it
sounds like a u-joint on the front drive shaft is bad and not moving freely with each revolution,if your clicking noise is mostly in a turn then you might want to check the cv shaft, make sure the boots are not torn or rotted off letting road dirt get into the cv joint.

Is it right for your front drive shaft to turn by hand when in park

i'm assuming you have a 4 wheel drive. If that is the case then yes cause when your in two wheel drive mode the front is in neutral

Transfer case wont engage

shift into 4wd and move truck a couple of feet.
if light is still off, park truck block the wheels set the park brake jack right front wheel and try to hand spin the wheel if wheel doesn't turn 4x4 is functioning properly but there is a wiring problem use an ohmmeter to check the 4x4 switch wiring fuse and bulb
if wheel turns freely the front axle or transfer case is not engaged
attempt to hand spin the front driveshft if the driveshaft will spin the transfer case is not engaged check the transfer case shift linkage, problem is in linkage or transfer case internals
if the driveshaft will not spin the transfer case is engaged properly
with trnsmission in neutral or park start engine measure vacuum on the two vac lines at front axle shift motor . one line should have approx 20" vacuum. other line should have none
if no vacuum measured look for vac leak or bad vac switch
if both lines have vac look for a bad vac swithc or ruptured cad actuator diaphragm
if one line has 20" +- VAC
move transfer case lever to 2wd measure vac again lines should have swapped vac signals
if no vac switch bad or 4wd shift likage needs adjusting
if yes vac motor bad or stuck or shift fork stuck
remove vac shift motor from the axle attach vac lines to shift motor engage disengage 4wd
does shift motor plunger move at least 1/2 inch
no shift motor bad
yes check axle shift fork and vac motor for binging

4 wheel drive will not engage.

use a hohm meter to check the hub coils . the hub coils should have zero resistance. if the armeture plates shows wear marks on them clean and let dry then paint the back side of them with black tremmclad paint .also make sure that the bearings in the helix are not binding. if they are u can take them apaart and lightly file the slots some so the bearings move freely.
that sloved my problem
